On February 7, 1925, the woman in the photo with me, below, was born in Chicago to a schoolteacher mother and soon-to-be engineering project manager father.  

Her maternal grandfather was a physician there.  Allegedly, during the erroneously-titled "Spanish Flu" pandemic, which ravaged Chicago, zero of his patients died.  read more »

 2021 is coming to an end.  I'm feeling like things are "looking up" for 2022.  Contrary to the now-popular movie on Netflix that says it's based on a real situation that just hasn't happened yet -- a meteor discovered only six months before hitting Earth, with attempts to influence it's course failed -- I say things are looking up.

I am composing this, initially, on Christmas Eve (2021).               

I'm reflective at this time of year, always, but moreso this than ever before.  The winter solstice has long been a time when I want to have solitude in the evenings at the very least.  New Years Eve as well, increasingly, since I was underway in my 30s, working to become an OT.    read more »

I write this on the 11th hour (mountain time), of the 11th day of the 11th month, 2021.  

In 2020 and 2021, I was to be re-connected with the Veteran's Affairs / V.A. system.  Soon, I'd be reconnected to a lot of things.  So much so, I wondered if my life was wrapping up. It was a time to look back and reflect on a lot of things, as I simultaneously moved ahead.
