Operation Warrior Wellness.org is GRATE for Veterans and All with Trauma in Past, Present AND FUTURE!
I was pleased to see on CNN this morning, that it is mediTation instead of mediCation -- or in addition to but with the potential to do medication changes -- for our veterans now, thanks to the David Lynch Foundation's program titled "Operation Warrior Wellness". read more »

New Benefits re: 9/11 Workers Include Cancers; Body/Toxins to Blame? Mind and Spirit Aspects Must be Remembered!
Today I want to talk about psychological trauma, as it is clearly a big part of 'the 9/11 story', which we are generally celebrating and acknowledging and in my case, studying, today. There are countless thousands who were directly involved eleven years ago, who woke up one day like every other day, and walked or rolled along to get around in their life in New Yor City just like every other day. read more »

Our "Amazing Alice" Asks for The Grate Group's Support re: Cancer AND to Continue Giving as a Teacher
Alice --- Amazing Alice, I called her -- passed in June of 2016. I've updated this blog topic on August 23, 2016 as well as ongoing this spring and summer and things were changing. Alice had become a writer on Lumigrate at my request, because she clearly had talent for writing. She wanted people to be inspired and to also learn what it can be like to have chronic pain and fatigue (fibromyalgia was what she had been diagnosed with). She wanted people to understand the spiritual aspects of things, as well. read more »

Aurora: My Thoughts After Two Weeks. Mental Health Education and Screening Has Been Missing at Universities
"Ironically", I received my 'usual' Alumni donation solicitation call from the Colorado State University Applied Human Sciences College on Friday within hours of when I heard about "Aurora" and the young college student who had invaded a movie theater for the 'epic' opening of the new Batman movie. read more »

The Olympics and History to the Present, Going to the Future
For the third time in 'modern times', London hosts the Olympic Games, and people around the world are huddling around their televisions as they have for generations -- a BILLION people will do so. Today, I noticed seeing people who are 'ahead' of me time-wise sharing their thoughts on Facebook, which allows us more ability to 'connect'. read more »

"Voluntary Separation" from a Colorado University Program: His/Her-story is Familiar. But for the Grace of ... _____?
"Ironically", I received my 'usual' Alumni donation solicitation call from the Colorado State University Applied Human Sciences College on Friday. Honestly, it has creeped me out in the past that long-lost friends couldn't track my cell phone number down but my Alma mater, which I was not all that inclined to have any 'attachment to' after graduation as an occupational therapist in 1996, could. read more »

Lumigrate's Summer of Love 2012 Blanket (and Water Campaign)
Do you remember "The Summer of Love"? I was 7 and had a 'tixie haircut' we called it, as the 'pixie' was in style at that time, but I had gotten a lot of ticks the previous summer, so my hair was cut short, and each time I came inside my mother would look through my head of blond, straight hair to try to get them before they got into me. read more »

Memorial Day 'Welcome Home': My Favorite Vietnam Veteran Teacher
Today, Memorial Day 2012, at the Vietnam Memorial in Washington, DC, the leadership of our country lead us in finally, officially, saying 'welcome home' to the veterans who served in that long 'conflict', later offically deemed a 'war'. There were shades of grey initially with US "involvement", going back into the 1950s, but in January of 1962, US pilots started transporting the south Vietnamese troops, a major turning point which provides the 'starting point'. read more »

My Heart Goes Out to You Today

MLK Day of Service, United We Serve, and Lumigrate's Hope YOU Do Too!
In keeping with my tradition of blogging only on holidays, as I spend much time in the Forums at Lumigrate.com, building content and integrating providers who contribute to the content there, I once again will encourage YOU, a guest/user of Lumigrate, to check out the website www.mlkday.org. I've copied and pasted some of the beginning parts, below, so you can get an idea of what is at the site. read more »
