Goodbye 2021 - The Eve of the New Year!
2021 is coming to an end. I'm feeling like things are "looking up" for 2022. Contrary to the now-popular movie on Netflix that says it's based on a real situation that just hasn't happened yet -- a meteor discovered only six months before hitting Earth, with attempts to influence it's course failed -- I say things are looking up.
The jury trial of the famed accomplis of Jeffrey Epstein, Ms. G. Maxwell, was handled in a way they were clearly trying to keep it simple and get a convication. And a conviction they got. So many people are now aware of the sexual interplay aspect of the "system", who weren't previously. I'd say in 2010 when the photo, above, was taken of me in order to promote the then-new (and now not available) podcasts I was having produced, I wasn't aware of it. And along the years since, I was.
One year ago I was celebrating that I'd had Covid-19, and was beginning what I knew was going to be a long journey to recover. I was able to drive just before New Years, and get a test, a week after my fever had resolved. My results were already negative, and I was able to resume helping those I serve after New Year 2021 began. So to end the year, I reflect upon that, and wonder what will be going on for me as we wrap up 2022, one year from now.
It was a year, for me, with a lot of death. My mentor doctor, who brought German auricular medicine model to my awareness in 2011, then pushed me to learn from him, left an immeasurable hole in all his mentee's lives when he passed in May 2021. My beloved client, Carson, had to be hospitalized about the same time, and died in September. My current primary client's family's matriarch died in the summer, and I'd be connected to fill a part of her shoes due to a conversation at the lunch after Carson's lovely funeral at the Veteran's Memorial Cemetary. It felt as if those "on the other side" were behind it. Connecting, ushering things along.
I thought my dog-of-late, Tres, who I've had for a year, would be liberated from the pains and challenges of his 13 year old body's life by now, but instead we will be celebrating the new year together in "old dog style", which pretty much means we acknowledge it, as I did last year recovering from acute Covid, on Greenwich mean time. Maybe this year we'll make it to East Coast time (10 pm my local time). I definitely don't aspire to make it to midnight. Neither does the Old Man dog.
I plan to spend time reflecting and looking ahead, setting sights, but not making "resolutions". That may work for some, but I don't ever recommend it. Instead, intentions, and new enthusiasms to propel our actions as we head away from the winter solstice 10 days ago, and toward the energing spring and beyond, carrying that through the summer and finding ourselves when fall arrives having benefitted. Knowing somewhere in there, Tres will be on his way.
Now, enjoy what is, and look forward ---.
