Yenta
Below, Amber, Yenta's #1 feline fan. Interestingly enough, Yenta came to be on Lumigrate at Thanksgiving-time 2009 and when I walked into the family home I grew up on Thanksgiving after a long drive, I was met not by my family as usual, but by a five month old kitten with eyes that just begged for the name I gave her. read more »

Yenta collaborated for 2011's Fibromyalgia Awareness Day/Month activity which I actually am 'upping the ante' and calling Fibromyalgia Knowledge Day at Lumigrate, which will be one week later, on May 19th -- a drawing for prizes that you'll hopefully want to become eligible for in the drawing! State of .... the Union, of Lumigrate, of YOU? Me?
2011 has gotten well underway and today, January 25th, is the annual State of the Union. I'm providing the White House's website link for anyone who wants to follow it. I found many interesting facts there on this visit and it's always nice to be reminded of the history. My mother impressed upon me the importance of learning history as it's a key piece to planning for the future. I personally am working currently to be in the present. To BE. So far, so good. read more »

In the fall of 2010, Yenta wrote a piece on Lumigrate.com about the peace sign and it received good feedback and had a good number of reads, which essentially translates into our knowing what's of interest to people and not. From my standpoint, it's felt like we're returning to something like the 1960s in this country in terms of people becoming active about things that they want to see changed. Which is a good thing, but doing it in a peaceful way is the best, or GRATEST way. I'll provide the link below so you can go read Yenta's peace piece, and I encourage you to spend read more »

Fibromyalgia Hobbies and Leisure; The Occupational Therapist in Me Comes Out!
I ran late getting over to Pablo Blanco's last night to cook dinner and help with 'glue up' of a big wood working project he has been working on for about as long as he's known me, which is 15 months now. I think I was putting it off a bit because I was nervous about how it was going to go as I've not done a big glue up like this since about 1992, and fibromyalgia has come and had it's insidious impact on many aspects of my function, including dexterity, processing speed of the mind, and on and on. Yada, yada, yada, as "Seinfeld" would say. I was tired yesterday read more »

I'm kicking off this section because Yenta's posted this in her Forum earlier today, and I've always thought of the woman as the definition of FUN. I remember the day last fall when the writer dropped into the facebook page for the first time that I recall saying "I don't do anything unless it is FUN and this site is FUN". So let's use this area to have FUN discussions with Yenta. Keep in mind she is an old lady, as she says, and we don't want to be burdening her with something that she can't 'put off until I'm feeling well and have time'. Maybe those read more »

Yenta - Her OWN "Forum". "Kibutz" or "Kibbitz"? YOU Can Write and Post Photo TOO! (NEW Instructions)
I thought today I'd write a very quick blog post and hope to have more people who have something to add to Lumigrate come and be a part of something that is helping many now, and we plan to have that grow! With everyone's help in grabbing an oar, if only to write one line in the Lumigrate Forum area, it's a contribution! read more »
