The First Day of Fall
It is the first day of the autum season, 2021, as I write this. It is my favorite season, since moving to the Grand Valley of western Colorado in 2004. I'd lived the first four decades (plus a few years) on the Front Range, as it is referred to -- the eastern slope of the Rocky Mountains. There, the winters can be brutal; here the summers are.

Conflicting Times Have Their Advantages
As I write this, it's the Thursday before the first holiday weekend of 2021 -- Martin Luther King, Jr.'s holiday was one that came about in my lifetime. At first it was so strange to have a holiday in January, and then I got used to it. I'm sure the things that are occurring right now, overall, with the new era we are entering, will eventually feel less strange, but right now they have me feeling uneasy.
"Go With The Flow" Has Never Seemed More Relevant
This is my first blog post in 2021, and it took me until the 10th of the month to do so. I reflected on my enthusiasm almost a decade ago as the New Year came around. Daily, I'd add onto the blog here at Lumigrate, posting another piece in underlying comments which gave the highlights of another section of a book I thought was particularly helpful for people who Lumigrate reached. It was a sharp contrast to the directionless sense of things I had this year. read more »
Mardy PopIns and O'Rio - Summer to Fall 2020 Transitions
When I took this photograph of O'Rio Grande in summer of 2017, he was 12 and a half years of age; I knew it was what I'd think of him doing after he passed. It turns out, as his life came to an end, fortunately with incredible compassion and skill from his most recent veterinarian / technician team, I was thinking of this. Run like you're free -- then rest in peace! read more »
What Dr. Brownstein's Clinic Suggested or Provided to COVID-19 Patients in Study, Made Easy
You may have already known about the study published recently (July 2020) by David Brownstein, MD, et al., reporting their findings treating COVID-19 patients in early 2020. I previously provided a topic about the journal, it's founder, and the study. read more »
Bringing Sound Scientific and Analytical Skills for this Historic Turningpoint - James Lyons-Weiler, Ph.D.
Covid-19 has been the biggest event in my lifetime, for my generation, and many others'. I spent time looking around for valid, non-corrupted information. And one place I knew I could turn was to James Lyons-Weiler, PhD. I'd like to preface this blog about "Dr. Jack" with a bit of history about me. Because then anyone reading this might better appreciate why I am so enthusiastic about what he is doing to promote cutting edge science relative to wellness / illness. read more »
The Reprieve (and Return to Lumigrate) of Summer 2020
The silver linings of the 2019/2020 virus crisis are many, in my opinion, and I've overall heard others say similarly. It was eerie, seeing this sign when O'Rio was able to walk to the park again. read more »
I'm Back -- Here's Why I Have Been Missing
I'm writing this on the 21st of March, 2020. It's a Saturday. It's been an unusual week for all in the modern world.
Last Saturday, I realized it was time to get on top of the rapidly changing information about the pandemic, more so than I had been. When two people, younger than I. who are or were neighbors to where I live or have lived, contacted me within 24 hours offering to shop or do whatever I might need help with, I knew I needed to tune in. read more »
10 Years on the Internet! Going With the Flow ... and Coming Full Circle!
This photo was taken in late spring 2009, by a friend I reconnected with when out to lunch with "the girls" treating me on my 49th birthday in April. An avid hiker who liked snapping pictures,
At the time I started Lumigrate, I had come so far reversing debility. It began my first semester in the occupational therapy program. 1994, Fort Collins, Colorado. I waa 34. read more »
O'Rio and Me -- Our Story So Far - Winter 2018 Update
O'Rio and I met just as summer got in full swing three years ago (2015). He and his family needed help. A mutual friend, a colleague of mine, connected us. And now he is mine. And yours.....ours. To help us learn.
