Since the time the website was being constructed, I have wanted to encourage people to check out a Colorado company which really helped me when I found out about them when I moved to Denver in the mid 1990s.  At that time they hadn't expanded to the city I lived in before that time so I wasn't getting the best type of supplement despite having done my research (through books and newsletter subscriptions related to what back in those days was called 'chronic Epstein-Barr virus' which today is 'chronic fatigue syndrome'.  So there's a link from the 'Products page to their website' JUST so you know....

BUT I'm going to give you the link to their online ordering area.  I have had people who follow Lumigrate order from them with excellent response time and satisfaction.  I've heard they are the #5 retailer in the US of supplements now.  ...  They were started by a visionary entrepreneur woman in 1955 in west Denver, which is near where I grew up but never knew of them until I moved back to Denver after completing my OT education -- by then they had lots of newspaper advertising and were located smartly around town and fortunately for me, always near where I lived.  When I moved west almost to Utah a few years ago I was so very pleased when they expanded here as well.

In order to facilitate the people who might see these products on the shelves where they shop OR at their local Natural Grocers/Vitamin Cottage (which is now expanding to other states in the West), I'm going to grab the photos and place them eventually.  For NOW, just to get started I will post a list (as I have a close friend who I showed all my bottles to last weekend who will be looking here because I realized every day I'm telling at least one person what I take and that's just with people I know personally so they now will have a place to refer as will anyone else who wants.  Again, this is what I take .... which has been guided by good medical doctors who know a LOT about supplements due to their extra training they've taken on the subject -- everyone has to do what they and their medical team think is right for them.

What I take all the time:

  1. Pure Essence Labs: Life Essence, The Master Multiple (4 tablets a day, I spread it out 2 x 2)
  2. Probiotic in the pearls form, either Pearls or Nature's Way Reuteri pearls (they go through the stomach before opening in the intestines)(To read WHY, here's a link to something I wrote about immunity and the gut after a seminar by Dr. Lepisto (who speaks at our local Natural Grocers frequently):  www.lumigrate.com/forum/intestinal-health-and-your-immune-system-boost-it-fall-and-flu-season-xfer-blog-here-be-seen-h
  3. Jarrow Forumulas: Bone Up (There are several version, I take the Superior Calcium Formula with Potassium Citrate and MK-7)
  4. Ethical Nutrients: Mal-Mag (which is the retail version of Metagenics "Fibroplex")
  5. Jarrow Forumals: B-Right Low odor B-Complex, optimized B-Complex
  6. Jarrow MSM (methyl-sulfonyl-methane)
  7. D-Ribose powder - Cardiac and Cellular Energy Forumula (I bought Soloray brand at the local Natural Grocers before I learned recently that each store has to carry a core line of things and then they are encouraged to carry what other things are available that local people want.  I'd prefer to take the brand Dr. Jacob Teitelbaum suggests as not only do I appreciate his work and history of developing the product, Lumigrate's experts Deirdre Rawlings, ND and Marc Spurlock, MD have both said either personally to me OR in The Three Doctors Interview (re: Integrative Approaches to Fibromyalgia) that they recommend that particular brand.  SO I'll be checking into THAT soon (having them carry the one Dr. Teitelbaum endorses but gives any proceeds away from, he widely professes -- which is very generous of him).
  8. Omega-3, Omega-6; I take fish oil that I'm sure says it's purified to remove mercury or tested.  I know krill oil is now very popular and for those who don't want to take an ocean-based/fish supplement there are options such as Flax Seed oil... anything carried at Natural Grocers is going to be very good.  (And Dr. Lepisto's videos on Lumigrate specify Nordic Naturals ... or else in chosing our Products for the Amazon 'shopping ease' on the Products page we identified that brand, which is available at Natural Grocers).

Taken as needed: D-Mannose with Cran Actin (Brand: Soloray) for Urinary Tract Health.  Read up about what D-Mannose does, it's beyond what cranberry does and truly solved a long-standing kidney infection that went on for years being treated with stronger antibiotics IF urninary symptoms are a concern of yours.

The ONLY THING I TAKE DAILY which I do not get with this above mentioned wonderful company is Guafenesin, and I get the house brand when at Walgreens -- it's frequently on sale for 50% off and I stock up -- it is called Mucous Relief but you might recognize the better known brand name 'Mucinex'. (NOT the one with decongestant in it for ME).   Also at Walgreens, which in our area one of which has a compounding pharmacy, I obtain DHEA, pregnenolone, estrogen, testosterone, and progesterone (all biologically identical).  This is a controversial subject and I recommend learnning about it through books sold at Walgreens and Natural Grocers!

And discussed on Lumigrate.com in several places:

In the Forums/ Fibromyalgia Section -- Wm Marcus Spurlock, MD Forum, he writes about them. Also there is a Forum about Anti-Aging and underneath it one titled Bio-Identical Hormones (currently you have to scroll WAY down to find them in the Forums area).  We have a compounding pharmacist who has agreed to write for us, it just hasn't been the right time YET as he's been very busy.... but stay tuned for finding MORE at Lumigrate.  Again, they're not what everyone choses to do, but they are an increasingly popular option ... which is why Walgreens has at least 500 compounding pharmacies now across the United States as I understand it.  In the small city in Western Colorado where I live, there is also a private one which opened as well, so likely you can find one in your community.  Call your regular pharmacy if you have difficulty locating one, as they have to refer to them for things that are compounded and naturally, your pharmacy staff and pharmacist are critical members to YOUR health care team always.

Hope that helps!  ~~ Mardy
