The key to good medical care is finding doctors who are capable of integrating multiple types of medical care into their practice. I said this in the plural form because no one doctor can meet a patient's full needs. But patients should interview doctors like you would interview any employee you would hire for your needs. Since people in conversation typically ask 'what do you do?' when you meet, I'm frequently explaining what Lumigrate 'is about'. My answer basically is: Valid, streamlined and FUN consumer/patient empowerment through education about progressive concepts such as 'integrative' and 'functional' medicine concepts, and focusing the "light of health and well-being" on information about chronic pain and illness, including the very common "fibromyalgia and fatigue spectrum disorders". read more »

The Way to a Provider's Heart is ... (Through the Stomach)
This topic was inspired by a gal who has become a follower of Lumigrate in the past few months and who, it turn out, is now hopefully contributing a great idea which you can read about. She has fibromyalgia (and kids and a husband and extended family) and she was commenting on how fortunate she feels to have a physician who is really able to help her, and he will even listen to her whine a little bit when she needs to.
