autoimmune disease
I received this email and checked out if Gwen was overselling AutoImmuneMom.com, and she was not! It's a great site, and so I am creating a topic here to present what she sent me, and the links. Thank you, Gwen, for your involvement in education and outreach, naturally, but in particular for taking the time to contact me about this! One note up front: If you say you're in a 'battle' that's a powerful statement that translates into what goes on in your body, per the mind/body/spirit form of medicine that Lumigrate 'is about' (integrative medicine). read more »
Do you have a 'plan' about getting vaccinated? Does it matter to you what the disease is, or is it your belief generally to get all the vaccines suggested and available, or conversely, none? You're here reading this, so you're somewhere past 'unaware' of the issue of vaccines, you're now 'aware' and if you continue on and do the work involved to become educated, which has been laid out for you in this topic, so it's now just a matter of your taking the TIME and ENERGY to become EDUCATED, form your opinions, and then act upon them. read more »

I initially created this topic about healing the mind and body on Martin Luther King Holiday, which is in January when there typically are people 'resolving' to make changes, often about the aspect of wellness that has to do with what we eat and drink, or 'diet'. read more »

You'll see on the home page that I have fibromyalgia, but I didn't include the details initially that for years before I had a diagnosis I was run up the flagpole of traditional medicine as though this might be MS. It was not, and food allergy testing after the neurologist didn't know what it was proved to be helpful, inexpensive and provide solutions. read more »

I established two areas for starters here in the Nutrition area of the Forums on Lumigrate.com and now have modified things a bit so am hoping to catch people where they are looking. Please know there is a general 'Nutrition' area for everyone no matter if they have food allergies or eat a particular way, and it has all kinds of recipes from people, and mostly from before they became aware of food allergies and changed how they were eating OR they did modifications to make them healthier if they knew those concepts already. They were very popular in the fall of 2009. That read more »
This was prompted by a question posed by a facebook friend related to having a little 'adult beverage' enjoyment and staying compliant with gluten. Please don't shoot the messenger, but I just saw this on Laura Vanderhye's wall (who I turn to for 'funny' material at times. "◄ ► ◄ ► No, dear...it's not binge drinking....it's just an anthropological study of Irish culture." And her friend who is how I fb connected with her, a really funny guy who lived in Colorado where she grew up and who has chronic pain and fibromyalgia, responded read more »

I know I've always felt like lupus and fibromyalgia are kind of like cousins in many regards. I'm going to ask someone I know who has this condition to contribute here, but in the mean time, please do if you want! This area of the website is intended to be a positive area for people to come and share what they know. I'll check back... Mardy read more »

Food Allergies by Dr. Christopher Lepisto
Mardy's Thoughts: Many of the health problems people face today are actually caused by a food allergy or food sensitivity from foods they are often times unaware, because the reaction in their body is a delayed-onset IgG reaction (immunoglobulin G). IgG reaction can take up to a day or longer to manifest symptoms, so it is very difficult to see the cause/effect relationship. read more »
