Depression has many causes. People often have stressors on their body/mind/spirit which leads the brain to have different chemicals in it: everything from poor nutrition in the foods consumed to not getting exercise and laughter regularly, even enough hugs! Often, people have been prescribed and might prefer 'give me a pill to solve my problem' rather than finding and correcting the underlying reasons. Often medications are necessary and helpful, hopefully for a short time while the underlying causes start to be investigated. read more »

This topic is inspired today by 'interesting timing'. While I was out thanking the neighbor who shoveled my snow and going on to shovel some other snow for the area people, I explained how it is I'm able to be doing things that I wasn't in the past. And I included the facts as to what my yearly expenses were in those days for my health care, as in a year I probably had over 20 medications/prescriptions going on most months. Good Tuesday to you all: I have a question for you...I am starting to wean off my sleep medication that I have been on for 7 years...yes 7...would anyone be willing to share what has worked for them...supplement and alternative therapy wise...I do take a SNRI so I have to be careful of Seretonin Syndrome...Thank You VERY much!
