30 Minutes of Time, $0.00 -- Yenta and Mardy Ask: R U Invested re: Financial Aspects of Chronic Pain/ Illness

Earlier today I was responding to a statement in the Lumigrate Forums area related to someone expressing that their finances don't allow for many of the therapies that are talked about related to recovering from chronic illness and in this case a chronic pain condition, fibromyalgia.  I sympathize AND empathize with this, and have since Lumigrate was being conceptualized and formed and have placed THREE no-cost videos here.  The others are at a price that is about the same as a low co-pay, and for an hour's worth of time with a medical provider with valid, progressive and thorough education (which cost us about $10,000 per video to make leading our pricing people to think that distributing that in $20 increments was reasonable). 

I have yet to know of anyone download all the free videos.  Which makes me ask 'why are people not taking advantage of things that are free?'  Is it that they're stuck in a place of saying 'I can't get what I want so I'm not going to play the game"?  I hope not!  And so if that might be resonating with YOU related to your education about things and what is available on Lumigrate and elsewhere, I encourage you to get on board.  You might want to read what Yenta wrote today in the same area I was writing in (I'll give the link below), as she's obviously quite an empowered lady!  I was a little more sympathetic regarding the question as I've maybe been in a less supported place due to my not being from a Jewish family as Yenta is. (And commented below what she wrote.) A friend this morning actually referred to his grief over a loss and how his Jewish friend said they have a year mourning period.  I realize I went back to work the day after my mother's funeral many years ago.  And then had a real crash of my health about two years later.  Interesting.  ... "Interesting?"

Yesterday I was referring someone to the very short video (which is free -- one of three that are) by Chris Young and realized that if I was saying it to one person with such conviction I likely should be encouraging people through the blog area to watch it as well.  Why?  Because you can then come here and Comment about it and start a discussion!  It might be the start to something that will create change and awareness for many.  

This video is a response from Dr. Young to a question I asked at the end of his seminar (one of the other free ones) on Health Management, because I think it's critical that people understand how the insurance / funding mechanism in the United States has affected things.  I've learned an indescribable amount from him over the years and really wish more people would take the time and energy and ZERO money (BARGAIN) and learn.  Particularly those saying they don't have money for things because they are disabled.  They have the time and hopefully at the very least a public library that will help them download if they cannot at home (more than half the computers in the US are able to).  There's even a blog about 'how to' if you need and the link for that will be below as well, with our adding a new area in the topmost 'How To' area of the Forums to create more visibility for this as people come to the Forums in increasing numbers.
