This area is inspired by a wonderful list which one of our friends wrote up and was so well received on our facebook page: It is helpful for people to have an area to come and read in a streamlined way.

Please ALSO see the "Your Story" area and contribute yours as well!

Re: Fibromyalgia Symptoms Listed: Discussed

I am looking for some insight.  I just stopped taking Lyrica as after 8 years, I don't feel it's doing me any good.  I do have Hypothyroid, and every month/week it seems I come up with other medical issues.  It's hard for me to use the bathroom, my stomach looks like I am 9 months pregnant, brain fog, achiness, pain....

My doctor, well I don't think he has any other options for me.  I've developed gastritis so he took me off my pain meds.  NOW What??  I started taking fish oil & glucosamine supplements, but I need help.  It is very depressing having to live like this with out any answers.

Thanks!

Re: Fibromyalgia Symptoms Listed: Discussed

Julie,

I have gastritis too, and I still take pain meds.    I take a PPI or whatever it's called, prescription stomach acid reliever, and I have no problems!

My other comment for you would be that it does seem that after a while, our meds don't see to be as effective.   I've found when I get that way, I have to switch things around (with my doc of course).    I go back to other meds that I've used before, or try something new.  It might be some trial and error, but I usually find another good cocktail for me.   Then, after a while, I go back to the original cocktail.    I might be on one for 2 years or more, but that kind of cycling has worked well for me.

Other helpful supplements include a good magnesium and malic acid, the B vitamins and D3.

Good luck!

Aimee

Re: Fibromyalgia Symptoms Listed: Discussed

I wanted to not let more time go by since Julie824 wrote in... I will do a blog hopefully tomorrow about the seminar about detox and cleanse tonight at the IMC but that is one seminar we do have on Lumigrate already and all those symptoms you mentioned are covered in the seminar as things that are telling you a detox/cleanse might be helpful.  However, it is important to note that if  person has significant GI issues they should get their GI system healthy before doing a cleanse and if you haven't read the blog about his previous seminar about intestinal health then maybe start there (and it's FREE too, whereas the seminar is $20 to download although it's important to note you get the whole handout in a file as well as the video (if you order it'll take a few minutes for the email to arrive in your mailbox but then there are two files in the email, one for the video and one of the handout).  It's a ton of info he packs in I think it's an hour (it went 90 minutes in person today but there was the acupuncturist bringing her very interesting perspective to it) and you really can do a cleanse from it ... much cheaper than seeing a naturopath IF you're lucky enough to have one in your area even! Also, some people (myself included) just embrace the core concepts for a long time instead of doing the full on cleanse because (I'll speak for myself) I really haven't had a 21 day period of time where I wanted to take the risk of stirring things up for myself, because of this being a new business and I just have been very busy.   Anyway, GREAT question and I'm glad others are giving their input here!  Wise gal that was saying that about rotating the 'cocktail' back and forth, I notice that as well and probably have forgotten to mention that so THANKS!
