Asking you for your thoughts
We're looking forward to hearing from you on this topic; have you done a cleanse to detoxify before? What experiences have you had? I've spoken with a lot of people who have done cleanses they're read or heard about, and were frustrated or didn't have good results. I'm hoping Dr. Lepisto's seminar appeals to you to learn from, and if you're a current patient of his and want to give input, we'd appreciate it. The intention of the forum area is to have a positive place for people to share and learn. Looking foward to see what YOU have to say! Mardy

Hi Sara -- Thanks for contributing about your experiences. I think you would LOVE Dr. Lepisto's seminar about detox and cleansing because he describes 'the hump' that you go through on about the third day. But the types of things you were eating don't all line out with the way his cleanse would do it. You didn't report taking anything to support the organs, as they are the mechanism by which everything has to get out of the body. So you bring up a really good point to remind me to say there are many people who have tried cleansing but something really extreme or 'commercial' (don't eat, take our product), and it turns them off to the concept.
As a person with fibromyalgia, I can attest to how difficult it is to imagine that you are going to feel WORSE for a few days before you feel better, and to be honest, I don't cleanse because there is never a week I can just be worse. And in the past I was not healthy enough to do it; I got a few days into one and was feeling GREAT (I was really hungry and eating a lot and my energy was up) but then a chronic infection issue with my kidney cropped up so had to do antibiotics and then recover from that (probiotics, etc.) But what I HAVE done is to take some of the concepts of his cleanse program and implement them for a couple of weeks on a routine basis and then generally eat more like you would on a cleanse (more vegetables, fiber supplementation, etc.)
I hope that helps. As you know I believe our greatest doctor is within ourselves and if you were thinking a cleanse would help then maybe return to that at some point when you've learned more about it. Perhaps you first have to do something differently to get 'up a level' to where you can cleanse -- such eating differently, supplements or looking into food allergies, or in my case heavy metals testing and detoxing. If you haven't looked into IgG food testing, Dr. Lepisto's other video on here is about that and is also excellent and in an hour and for $20 you pretty much have everything you need to know. Handouts come with it in a separate file as you might have read on the website. When I was reading your experience and what you were eating and how you felt, it's possible one of the foods you put into your cleanse that you normally didn't eat was something you have a sensitivity to. When I had mine checked the first time when I was SO weak, I was as allergic as you could be to dairy and high on wheat and eggs as well. Within a week it was a huge difference in my strength and energy and I made a full recovery for a while. Then I had them retested 10 years later and those were lower (as I ate less of them for all that time) but now pinto beans are something I react to with the IgG in my body .... because ... I ate a lot of mexican food as it was corn and not wheat! The video talks about how to rotate foods and all that kind of stuff. TONS of good information. Again, the best doctor you have is in you and you're just looking to me as an advisor so read what I've written and get a sense of what seems to make more sense or feel 'right' to you (and maybe it doesn't), and then go from there.
Kudos for being so proactive by the way.
Mardy

A very good cleanse is the Master Cleanse. It is cheap, and simple.. but not always so easy. My suggestion is to build up to it, first by incorporating it into your normal daily diet, then ease into the cleanse by eliminating all but fruits and veggies for a few days. The Master Cleanse has also become known as the Lemonade diet even though it isn't a diet. You can google "master cleanse" or "lemonade diet" to get the recipe and instructions. It consists of fresh squeezed lemon, real maple syrup, and cayenne pepper mixed with water. I have never done the salt flush, and am not sure
For most people, this cleanse is enough. Some people can't bring themselves mentally to 'fast', but like any other detox... day three is hump day. If you can make it past day 3, you honestly don't want to eat.
It is important to ease back into eating, and most beneficial if you use this as a time to clean up your diet some. You'd be amazed how much better you feel after doing this cleanse.
I was very apprehensive about it because I quit all my supplementation while fasting. Amazingly, other than the general fatigue that accompanies the first couple of days, I felt fine. It was even hard to convince myself to eat again, even though I knew I couldn't continue fasting forever.
I'm thinking that there are many ways to cleanse and many ways to wear your hair and everyone will find one or several that works for them. But it's important to really have a thorough education in important topics and that's what we've set up for people with the base seven videos at Lumigrate.com. And it's difficult to even get the whole concept condensed to an hour, so the handouts also come in handy for additional information (which come in the file when someone orders a video download).
I know that DeeDee is very knowledgeable and has spent lots of time over the years learning and came up with what has worked for her. I encourage everyone to do the same -- do your research (whether here with Lumigrate and / or other places). Pick something that makes sense to YOU, which you can get on board with with body/ mind / spirit. I continue to appreciate the hour-long seminar and education (with handouts) that Dr. Lepisto has provided at Lumigrate.com and I personally have found my own way of compromising on that to be something I can get MY body/ mind / spirit on board with. (His seminar even brings up the spiritual connectedness people will have frequently when on a cleanse, and world history about cleansing traditions.)
If even for the base education, I think the $20 cost of his video is a good investment in something that will save money and increase health in the long run. Keep in mind that I watched these providers' $10 live seminars for a long time and then asked them to come in and record the ones that made sense to put as the initial 'palate to pick from' for Lumigrate's launch. We're now finding that people online are overwhelmed with shorter options to learn from and just haven't learned yet how easy it is to download and also can read faster than watch so want more information (at a lower fee) they can order to read. But if a provider or a person wants to really understand from a naturopath about cleansing and detoxification concepts and then have a complete program presented to even get started on with a good foundation of knowledge, the video is still what I would do! (Link, below, FYI)
The part that I might take from what DeeDee has written is to look into putting some red pepper and lemon on the foods the cleanse that video steps people through (and why), in order to get that piece for ME. ~~ Mardy
