The Mood Cure, by Julia Ross, M.A. -- My New Top-o'-the List Recommendation for Most Everyone

I keep finding books as time goes on that are out NEW and I think are fabulous. I hear about them because of the publicity stunts they do to get people hearing about the book and people buying them. The Mood Cure is far from new, but I was surprised after looking through it to see how long ago it was written; 2002!  How I found this book might be of interest and I think is a rather fun little 'story'. Whitney Houston: "Am I good enough? Will they like me?" Body, Mind, Spirit Stress or Nourishment

Whitney Houston's funeral is on my television as I write this today.  I hope my words, the distillations of my thoughts and feelings, will help someone who reads them.  Many of the areas of the forums 'speak to' this seeming tsunami we have have experienced recently of musicians dying from misuse of prescription drugs and/or alcohol and other drugs.  I have never attended a service like her funeral, but have always enjoyed gospel music; I've been a long-time fan of soulful and bluesy music.  read more »

What is stress? How can it be reduced?

Stress is known as the silent killer. It impacts everyone in a variety of ways, and most of which do not appear to be stress-related but truly are. When a person is stressed out, the stress has huge negative effects on the human body. In addition, I use the term 'person' loosely, because yes... kids do have stress too. Being the young age of 24, it is understood that I have a lot of stress and even more on my plate; however, it would be superficial to say that my students (who are 6th graders) do not have stress.  read more »
