Toxins from Mind, Body, Spirit and Taking an Inflammation Vacation
Lifestyle has so much to do with wellness. Activities you do. What you eat and drink. Everything you are doing is affecting YOU (being body, mind and spirit).
This all has 'everything to do' with toxins, and your lifestyle has everything to do with how many toxins your body/mind/spirit is dealing with. Naturally, prevention is best, and then there are many things a person can do to reduce/remove toxins. I'm providing a link to an 8 minute video at YouTube from Dr Mark Hyman, an MD who I've been covering intensively in 2013 related to his book The UltraMindSolution, which is about healing the mind by healing the body (focusing on foods and the gut/eating/supplementation to offset things we've done to get the biosphere balance out of whack, so to speak.)
You will see in the video everything from identifying the toxins when possible, fixing the gut/intestines, which is the source, ultimately, where health 'goes wrong', in combination with what genes a person has. He points out in the video that he's had genetics testing to find out he's missing a gene that has to do with detoxifying the body related to heavy metals.
He had accumulated a lot of mercury, he said. When I was tested in 2005 or so, I was one of the highest in mercury ever seen by the two providers in western Colorado who were knowledgeable in environmental illness at the time (one is the naturopathic doctor you can find on Lumigrate's videos about detoxification and cleansing, and food allergies. He actually stated when I became his patient in the year or two after that, I was the highest he'd seen, though he had to cypher the difference in how the metals were flushed out of the body, as the MD could use an intravenous solution, NDs in Colorado cannot do I.Vs so his way is through an oral chelator which is not as potent in the bloodstream (getting to where the metals are stored and attaching and pulling it / flushing it out.)
Dr Hyman reinforces things we "all have heard before" -- drinking safe water, with toxins removed, exercise, relaxation. Unfortunately, he was trying to make this as short a video as possible and so I would suggest that you consider watching it more than once, taking notes, and really integrating this information into your life. Making these lifestyle changes is so important.
And one of the more complex areas to address related to inflammation in the body is included at the other link I'm providing, which takes you to Dr Hyman's blog. You'll see it is about taking only four foods out of your diet in order to get the inflammation removed.
I call it an 'inflammation vacation', and spring is such an ideal time for people to be doing these things. For those who are further from the wellness end of the continuum and closer to the illness end, I remind everyone of the importance of consulting with your chosen medical provider about making big changes, and sometimes people don't have enough knowledge about what occurs when you do a cleanse or you change what you're eating and drinking or other of the lifestyle changes, and it can 'kick up' a lot of changes in the body which is stressful. So approaching these things very gradually to prepare. Look at the word 'pre-pare', it's what you're doing before you ultimately 'do something'.
I suggest purchasing or otherwise obtaining The UltraMind Solution book to have at your fingertips and really 'study' and 'work through', as it's hundreds of pages that step you through this information in a very thorough way. I hope these two links get you headed in the right direction and that your interest is piqued, so to speak.

AND here's a link to the 'series' I started in January 2013 in the gut forum of Lumigrate where 'bit by bite, step by step' I helped people set the groundwork for 'doing' the program that Dr Hyman outlines in The UltraMind Solution. It truly takes some commitment and consideration by people before they launch into 'doing' what is outlined at the blog link I've posted here, in particular, when you take an "inflammation vacation". It's not that easy in the US typically, to not eat wheat, dairy, eggs and whatever else a person knows they're allergic to; in my case, yeast. And ideally, doing weeks or even months is what is outlined in the book.

I am adding here a link to a very supportive topic at The Huffington Post related to inflammation's impact on wellness, related to psychological stress. I encourage people to also take the slideshow that is offered, it's only 12 frames, one of which is a very nice, simple video from an energy worker (whose website is www.igwell.com for integrative wellness) -- and her message is outstanding, as it starts with what I always start people with as well -- breathing and water, then exercise, looking at sleep and that is where I start suggesting people work with providers who can assess their endocrine system (that means 'thryoid' and not just TSH testing, we have much information about this at Lumigrate), and other means to get restorative sleep. Even the 'allopathic' experts about wellness talk about the 'four pillars of wellness' and when it comes to transformations in health care in such divisive times (as allopathy is sinking and being replaced with functional medicine and more "alternatives") looking for the common ground in ANY situation is where the real stength lies.
(Marianne Williamson's prayer today was related to common ground, as the world just heated up yesterday related to chemical warfare and nations in conflict working to find solutions.) Please visit this resource and then ... come back to Lumigrate if we can continue to help YOU by lighting the path to health and well-being, as we do.

Contact Us comes to me, so please do if you have questions or comments. Lumigrate is "Lighting the Path to Health and Well-Being" for increasing numbers of people. Follow us on social networking sites such as: Twitter: http://twitter.com/lumigrate and Facebook. (There is my personal page and several Lumigrate pages. For those interested in "groovy" local education and networking for those uniquely talented LumiGRATE experts located in my own back yard, "LumiGRATE Groove of the Grand Valley" is a Facebook page to join. (Many who have joined are beyond our area but like to see the Groovy information! We not only have FUN, we are learning about other providers we can be referring patients to and 'wearing a groove' to each other's doors -- or websites/home offices!) By covering some of the things we do, including case examples, it reinforces the concepts at Lumigrate.com as well as making YOU feel that you're part of a community. Which you ARE at Lumigrate!
