Take action? Take no action?

What will you choose today?

How can you make it easy to make healthy choices on a daily basis?  The only secret is to turn your ideas into action steps. Think ahead, plan for healthy choices and track your actions on a daily basis.

The first step is to know and understand what healthy food looks like and how to select those foods that have a positive outcome on your system. You will be amazed at how just placing your awareness on what you eat and how you feel will give you good information on what gives you energy and what depletes your energy on a daily basis.

Start by paying attention to everything you eat. Take action based on education and self awareness.

Here are three ideas from a coaching standpoint to make healthy choices by taking actions.

Step One: Plan ahead for healthy shopping

The idea is to plan ahead for healthy meals and snacks.

The action step is to select meals that fit your eating needs.  Write out the ingredients and use that list for your grocery shopping

Step Two: Find and use meal plans that fit your schedule

The idea is to have simple meal plans that are easy to prepare.

The action step is to find recipes, test them. Keep the ones that fit your schedule. Drop the ones that are complicated or time consuming to make.

Step Three: Avoid the unhealthy trap of being too tired and too hungry to make good choices

The action step is to have a few snack or frozen leftovers that will be there when you get over whelmed from the day and have no energy left for making healthy food.

The secret to successful change is to start with one action a day.

Taking one action step a day will get you started towards a healthy lifestyle. Start with one step and track your success. Pay attention to how good you feel with each healthy choice and celebrate one step at a time.
