I am offering this eye-catching, rare, vintage, mid-century (1950's or 60's), Mexican modernist ring by a man considered "the maestro": Toño of Taxco.  As the markings indicate, this extremely desirable and rare item (signed Cecilia , Toño) is from his /their early "Piedra Negra" (black stone) line of jewelry, yet does not have black stone as other pieces from that era had.   The markings on the back of course are of interest once you are captivated by the piece.

(Online researching I only found one other that was presently available for purchase from the series, and it had black stone but interestingly no number, so it might have been something truly one of a kind.  Who knows, maybe he intended to put black onyx in this and decided to put turquise instead.  Maybe the future owner of this beauty will find out more with their vested interest.)

The flat oval top with the turquise (center) inlaid within sterling "slit"like focal point with two tones of metal "bursting" out into the gold (copper) "frame" offset atop the sterling top that attaches gracefully, simply and beautifully to substantial sterling wire that wraps twice around the finger, when worn.  The craftsmanship is apparent and consistent with the reputation of this icon in fine designer jewelry from Taxco's booming mid-century years.

Please view the photos, read my description and ask all questions prior to inquiring and presumably purchasing.  I am open to reasonable offers from serious buyers.

This would be a fantastic gift for a modernist , mid-century appreciator. I very much look forward to having someone get this in their hands, but admit if I were going to start collecting an artist's pieces, this is one I think is highly desirable.
