Hello my dawlinks!  I'm sorry about the hiatus but when G-d says "plotz" (lay down) you plotz! It appears your Yenta had a battle with pain that went from the nose to the toes but I'm not kvetching (complaining), I'm celebrating!  That's what hippie Bubbies do!  So?  Does your Yenta have a story for you? Such a question.  Of course I do.

A young lady, such a nice girl, found me after she went to her Rheumatologist.  It just so happened her doctor and my doctor are partners, who'd a thunk it?  Anyway, this young lady works with Ellen in the supermarket also as a cashier and the supervisor had been giving her a hard time since she was calling out sick so often and going home early, etc.  Turns out she may have Lupus (G-d forbid) or something along that line.

I was talking with her earlier today and I have to say, I'm quite impressed.  It's not easy to impress your Yenta, kindeleh, but this little girl is very brave.  She told your Yenta something that I had completely forgotten about doing as a young meydl (girl).  She was yelling at her ankle when she could'nt walk anymore.

As a meydl I was going home from the library, carrying a few books (not stone tablets) when I missed a step and fell, twisting my ankle.  I was with a few friends and my darling Moishe, who picked me up (I was much thinner then) and carried me to the E.R. I was crying and yelling at my foot the whole way there.  Moishe was laughing, I must have looked rather g'sheveld (a mess).  He stayed with me through the x-ray, the "inspection" of the foot and ankle, the wrapping and learning how to use the crutch; which by the way, I never learned to use.

I have to admit, yelling at my foot, silly as it sounds, was quite a release of frustration.  Mine throat hurt, my eyes were red and swollen from crying but I felt much better after I was done yelling.  No wonder Moishe was laughing, he understood everything I was saying in Yiddish anyway, but I caught a glimps of myself in the mirror and OY VEY!  Clowns didn't look that funny on purpose!  The more I laughed, the better off I was.  When Monday rolled around and I had to get to classes Moishe helped me, of course.  He has always been a  mensch (a good man).

It's a matter of expression.  How do you express yourself?  How do you get your feelings out?  Ellen sings!  How many of you knew that?  I do crafts and kibbitz (talk) a lot!  Rubin's girlfriend bakes, some people cook, others yell at walls, some take their dogs for walks, others exercise, still others work in their yards...  are you getting the idea yet, bubbelehs?  How do you express yourself?  Where is your outlet?  How do you let off steam?  In which direction does your energy flow?

Of course I understand that some people prefer to stay bottled up, thinking that there is no one around to help them, never realizing that that "no one" really starts with the self.  Believe in yourself and what you CAN do and the rest will follow.  If yelling at walls makes you happy, be sure you have some ice water on hand, and have at it!  Don't forget the ear plugs for everyone else please.  If making mud pies is your pleasure, don't forget your Nexium and enjoy!  There's an outlet for everyone, go find yours.  If you have one, find a new one.  Say it with me, bubbelehs... IT COULDN'T HURT!  It's good to be home!

Your

Yenta
