The Grate Groove in 2013: Continuing our Education of Groovey Providers' Expertise and Community Involvement

The "Grate Groove" is a group of providers or business owners and others significantly interested in health education/promotion to the public who are 'Groovy with Lumigrate', and who are included in the information provided at the website (Lumigrate.com)'. We network and get to know what the others 'do' with or for people in order to better guide people where they might be best helped, which might create a 'groove' from one door to the other. In a perfect world everyone would be in the same place but that's pretty difficult to create, so I (Mardy Ross) thought I'd create "the next best thing to being together".

While we hope all people who can attend events in the Grand Valley of western Colorado find and join this page, many who join live at distances but are so interested in Lumigrate.com's providers and information, and join as well! Welcome ALL to following who and what we are!

Beginning in summer of 2012, this includes information from the SWIG group's information I cofounded this year with three other local professionals. SWIG stands for "Safe Water is Great" and we are focused on fluoride in water and education about that, with the intention to have change come at our local treatment plants IF THAT IS WHAT THE PUBLIC WANTS after having the opportunity to be educated. We therefore have created education at Lumigrate.com and will be also doing in-person education and are available potentially to come speak to your organization/group. 

One of the four local treatment plants did stop adding it earlier this year and it seemed a good time to group up and do something GROOVY about that important safety issue with our drinking water for many in the US and beyond. There are also worker safety issues at the plants, as it is a hazardous material. 

Information about our whole process is in topics at Lumigrate.com in the hopes others elsewhere will follow suit and form SWIG groups possibly, or create their own logo, acronym/name, and do things totally on their own just based on inspiration from SWIG. Essentially, our focus is on 'functional' concepts: getting to the underlying reasons for lack of wellness (a.k.a. 'chronic illness') in order to get back to 'chronic wellness'. 

This group has an ultimate goal and intention of having the public and providers of the area cross pollinate and have a better understanding of who does what, where, why, how, when and to be able to better address the needs of consumers in the area who have complex chronic illnesses, such as the "baffling-to-most" fibromyalgia. Collectively, the providers understand what it is and what to do about it -- individually they cannot be as "potent to the patient." We cannot be our best as islands and we look forward to being able to do some events to include more providers and consumers in learning and 'moving things forward' for providers and the consumers alike.
