Fireworks! It's Time WE Change America's Traditions!

For New Years Day 2012, I am transferring this is a blog from 2010, as birds have been reported dead on the ground once again, with scientists looking into why.  Last year it was determined that was a result of fireworks causing them to take flight at night and run into each other.  Let's make some changes in 2012, shall we?  Why allow something for our humanly "entertainment" when it harms all the Earth's creatures to one extent or another -- incluing the humans as well as impacts negatively our natural resources? So in 2012, 'vote with your dollar' -- I won't be attending any event where fireworks are going to be part of things, and I will hope to make my 'voting' and opinions known if there are events I would be going to which are 'deals broken' because of their utilizing fireworks as part of their marketing.  Because when you get down to it, all these displays are really 'marketing' for the cities, events, teams, etc.  But shouldn't we really be 'rooting for the BIG team?  The one we are ALL on together, Earth?

Mardy's note January 2015.  I checked the link below as the last time I'd checked it the cite was up for purchase and it still is, so apparently The Canary Report is no more. I'm glad I went through the hoop to get the okay to use the photo and put it on Lumigrate at least. I'm recalling Suzie had a fire where she lived, and that was a problem for her health condition and I don't recall seeing what happened after that from my vantage point on Facebook. I will hope she is okay and try to see what I can find out. My next door neighbor growing up got the type of symptoms that are MCS and I learned in my 20s that these people can die from the seriousness of their illnesses and in the mean time they are very incapacitated. So I appreciate what she had done when she was able and hope this stays online a really long time and is a testment to that. 

Susie Collins has a most interesting online community about multiple chemical sensitivity called 'The Canary Report'.  I have always LOVED that title because I have always said that I've felt like I am virtually like a canary in a cage, or was when my symptoms were worse.  (To use the Full Barrel Syndrome analogy, my barrel has gotten emptied in recent years so I'm not as sensitive as I used to be, but anything I used to be sensitive to, I still avoid as I know it's a toxin and my body is just able to compensate now, as hopefully all healthier people do... BUT..... <just think about it for a second>). 

So I found it welcome reading today on facebook when I saw that she posted her annual information about the polluting effects of fireworks.  I'm providing the link for you and encourage you to go read -- as a consumer I've chosen to stop coloring my hair (or do it much less frequently and in a way that greatly reduces my chemical contribution to myself, my stylist and everyone downstream from the salon's drain), pay more for hair and skin care products that don't contain chemicals which are known to mess with your hormone system or contribute to your risk of getting cancer. 

I find it interesting that last night I really got caught up watching a most incredible sunset and didn't want to go out of my way to watch fireworks -- maybe there was something else at work in my mind that I'd not thought of.  Traditions are HARD to change -- how we eat, which in my opinion is contributing or causing much of the chronic illness in our modern societies, is a prime example.  So, here's more food for thought -- about how we spend our resources of time, energy and money when it comes to July 4 in the US.... Yup, they're fun all right but is it worth it? 

Note from Mardy January 2015 --- haha ^... I clearly didn't know that geoengineering was going on. This was in the time frame when I was noticing the incredible sunsets and before the 'aha' of June 2013 when I woke up about it BUT it was in 2011 that there was the first X in the air over CW Colorado and one of the local television news channels did a story about 'chemtrails'.  I found the photo I took of that in 2011, I was out walking and thought "I need to look into if that could be passenger jets or what that is about' but I didn't see the news story about it, only finding it when I 'woke up' and then because it was in the local mainstream media I did not realize initially there was a media blackout of it ... which was not a total blackout there were certain places that were on the leading edge, I now believe, of the disclosure that we are now well into.  

I and others expect it is very soon that the big revelation will occur by the system reporting to us what they allege geoengineering is about and then it's going to be a very interesting time I would imagine for those who care about such matters as it will be the official reporting versus what might be more realistic that has to be leaked and surmised and 'figured' as best we can. I didn't yet do my signature "Live and Learn. Learn and Live Better!" at this time either and I now say that it applies more today than ever. As evidenced by this one.  Yup, I was sitting there noticing 'awesome' sunsets and totally not suspecting what the cause was. Nor the harm that was going on.  So naturally this becomes a factor to put into the pot of what is going on with our birds. And bees. And trees. And everything.  ~ Mardy
