How do YOU think about what leads a person (or any other being) to be well or unwell/ill? Do you realize that there might be symptoms that are dismissed or hidden from awareness and attributed to something else that does not 'register' as 'symptoms'? read more »
YOUsers of Lumigrate might know that Lumigrate launched in 2009 with a link on our products tab to Vitamin Cottage, which is a Colorado-based company which started in the mid 1950s. I grew up very near that part of the Denver area, but my family was not into 'health foods' or supplements, ironically. read more »

Depression has many causes. People often have stressors on their body/mind/spirit which leads the brain to have different chemicals in it: everything from poor nutrition in the foods consumed to not getting exercise and laughter regularly, even enough hugs! Often, people have been prescribed and might prefer 'give me a pill to solve my problem' rather than finding and correcting the underlying reasons. Often medications are necessary and helpful, hopefully for a short time while the underlying causes start to be investigated. read more »
Mainstream media has been sensationalizing the latest study published in the Archives of Internal Medicine on the use of dietary supplements by older women. (1) Most of the headlines about this 19-year long study involving about 39,000 women with an average age of 62 state things like, “Women taking multivitamins or other supplements have an increased risk of death.” Basically, they are all saying that vitamins will kill you. read more »

Questions about dietary supplements are in the news a lot these days. Just this month ConsumerLab.com released a study on 38 multivitamin supplements. Of those, 13 well-known products did not pass approval. Improper labeling and discrepancies in the amount of nutrients claimed on their labels were the most common complaint. I've been following with interest what I can see at Lumigrate about what people are tuning in to hear and read about, plus talking with Mardy related to what information we can provide that is of most help to people. It seems there are two tracks of people when it comes to supplements -- those who are in overall good health and wanting to maintain that, and those who have specific health concerns who then benefit from additional items.
