Vaccines sure are a loaded subject in todays world. Personally, I think they are not as effective as the medical community claims them to be. The risks, in my mind, outweigh any of the purported benefits.

Homeopathic methods of administering disease tissue would be the best way to confer immunity on a person. A resource I use on the Internet can be found if you Search on "Dr. Sherry Tenpenny, DO". She has a website on vaccinations that is loaded with information. One concept is that proteins in vaccinations can be similar to body tissue proteins, and this "seeds" the immune system to react against normal cellular proteins, causing, or contributing to, autoimmune diseases.

It would be best to support your own immune system with hydration, nutrition, homeopathy, acupuncture, manipulation, massage, etc. to prevent your self from getting sick.

Also, related to what you said at the top related to the influenza vaccine, I am not in favor of my patients getting a flu shot. It messes with their TH1/TH2 immune system and makes them sick. I have them do the Flu Mist or keep a prescription of Tamiflu around in case they get the flu.  This is a very short video on YouTube that I suggest people watch for other information I find beneficial specific to influenza protection.

Hello Dr Marc Spurlock - Pleased to meet you, and Dr Kennedy, and thank you for sharing the Natural News link. Mike Adams has one of the best alternative health websites, along with Dr Mercola. I'm also extremely proud of Alan Phillips for joining Natural News as a featured author all about vaccinations, current events and constitutional rights in America. 

Alan has a full practice and things have been heating up this past year, as the government clamps down heavily in more areas of society in regard to forced and/or required vaccinations: to attend school, to work in health care and hospital settings, to immigrate to the U.S., to participate in sports activities, to act in the military, and numerous other daily activities. 

Every day we learn another negative aspect of the influenza program, dealing with adverse reactions to the vaccine, harm to mothers-to-be, the elderly and young babies. We learn more about the ingredients and their toxic effects on the brain and immune system.

We learn that continued and repeated vaccines cause hypersensitivity in many people to foods and their environment. We learn that the government tests innocent populations without their consent. We learn continued vaccines stimulate viruses to mutate into more resistant strains.

I always enjoy seeing the experts at Lumigrate 'connect here', as Debby, Jim and Marc (doctors Kennedy and Spurlock) have, with me as the hub; what a GRATE place to be! Over the years, I have been told that much of what our provider experts 'get' from being part of things at Lumigrate is the way it nudges their education along in a quality way, same as it does for the consumer experts who utilize Lumigrate for learning. It also provides them with a resource to direct their clients, patients, and consumers toward and essentially easing their burden of directing toward QUALITY progressive information. Then as you see, we link out and connect with others, such as Natural News, etc.  That is the #1 concern I and all providers have related to the consumers using the Internet, there are way more nonqualified people 'out there' than quality ones, and sometimes they are not only dangerous, they're con artists! 

One resource that came to mind today related to this information about vaccines and public policy was Toni Berhart, JD, and her recent Psychology Today article about convergent and divergent thinking related to chronic illness and overall. I do not know if the work she has done in the past related to being a lawyer and judge extended into this realm, and hope she will be pleased to have been thought of as a GRATE resource here to add to the discussion about this timely topic. 

I wanted to share "What Type of Thinker Are You?" here, with the encouragement that people use the link to it that will be set up at the bottom.  I think it might help people studying and forming their opinions about vaccines for themselves and society in general (or any other important matter).  (And I really enjoyed hearing about how she dealt with the hurdle presented about turning her written material into audio, those of us like Debby and I who have caches of information are tasked with making things available in multiple forms for 'consuption' and it's very taxing to our time, energy and money.)

What Type of Thinker Are You?

 

“Convergent” and “divergent” thinking represent two different ways of looking at the world. A convergent thinker sees a limited, predetermined number of options. By contrast, a divergent thinker is always looking for more options. Many of us get stuck in convergent thinking and, as a result, don’t see the many possibilities available to us. Let’s have a look at both types of thinking.

 

Convergent Thinking. Convergent is a form of the word “converging” and so it means “coming together.” Convergent thinking is what you engage in when you answer a multiple choice question (although, in real life, we often only see two choices). In convergent thinking, you begin by focusing on a limited number of choices as possibilities. Then you choose the “right” answer or course of action from among those choices. The figure on the left side of the diagram illustrates convergent thinking.

Here’s an example: “People are sick or people are healthy.” For many years after becoming chronically ill, those were the only two possibilities I saw: I was sick or I was healthy. Each night I’d go to bed, hoping to wake up healthy. When I didn’t, I considered myself to be sick. It was one or the other.

Along with that, I thought I only had two possible courses of action: I could be a law professor or I could do nothing with my life. That may sound extreme, but that’s how I saw it at the time. Not wanting to do the latter, I forced myself to keep working, even though I was too sick to do so. It didn’t occur to me that I could be in poor health and lead a productive life.

Here’s another example of convergent thinking. When I considered how friends responded to me when I became chronically ill, I saw only two possibilities: those who stuck around cared about me and those who didn’t stick around didn’t care about me. I wasn’t able to see that people could drop out of my life and still care about me.

I’m not dismissing the value of convergent thinking. It’s an importantcognitive [60] tool, particularly in math and science. Unless I’m missing something, it would be silly to be open to other options than “4” when asked, “What’s 2+2?”. But convergent thinking has at times been a great source of suffering for me during my illness, because it’s kept me from seeing beyond my limited vision of what is possible in this new and unexpected life.

You need not have health difficulties to see how convergent thinking—because it leads you to take a narrow view of your life—can be unskillful. For example: “It’s aerobics or no exercise at all.” With this type of thinking, if you have an injury that prevents you from doing aerobics, you’ll opt for no exercise at all rather than considering other options, such as doing something less strenuous but still valuable.

Another example: “This new job is going to be great or it’s going to be terrible.” If these are the only two possibilities you see, then if you decide it’s terrible, you won’t be able to enjoy a pleasant experience at work when it comes along. “He either loves me or he doesn’t care about me at all.” Well, you get the idea: limited options; only one “right” answer or course of action.

Divergent Thinking. By contrast, divergent means “developing in different directions” and so divergent thinking opens your mind in all directions. This opens possibilities in your life because it leads you to look for options that aren’t necessarily apparent at first. The figure on the right side of the above diagram illustrates divergent thinking.

A divergent thinker is looking for options as opposed to choosing among predetermined ones. So instead of deciding that the two choices for me are “sick” or “healthy,” I would ask myself if there are other options, like the possibility that I could be sick and healthy at the same time. It took me many years to see that this was indeed an option (and it became the major theme of my book, How to Be Sick).

When I became chronically ill, I was mostly a convergent thinker. As a result, for many years after I could no longer work, I felt useless, as if my life had no meaning. I slowly emerged from this dark place by becoming more of a divergent thinker, but I still have to work at it by reminding myself: “Look for options you haven’t considered.”

Here’s an example of how switching from convergent to divergent thinking can make our lives easier and lead to fruitful results. When How to Be Sick was published in 2010, I began to get requests for me to read it as an audiobook. I decided I could do it if I just bought a good microphone and some computer software. I announced on Facebook [61]that there would soon be an audiobook, and I responded to the many email requests I’d received by telling people that an audiobook was in the works.

But when I undertook the project, it proved to be much more difficult than I’d anticipated. Without going into details, suffice it to say that there’s a reason that most book narrators are professionally trained (or, at least, not limited in their energetic resources!). As I faltered, I saw only two options: Push forward, at great expense to my health; or not do it at all. I did the latter—not without having had to endure self-recrimination over letting people down.

It took me over 2 1/2  years to put on my divergent thinking cap. I thought: “Maybe there are more options than just “audiobook read by me” or “no audiobook.” I began to do some online research and found a website that matches books with narrators. (It’s a spin-off from Amazon and audible.com.) From my laptop, I signed up, submitted a short excerpt from the book, and “auditioned” narrators. They would record the excerpt, upload the audio file to the website, and I’d get an email notifying me there was a new audition.

I listened to over a dozen auditions (it was fun!) and then one day, I heard the voice that was perfect for the book. Deon reads How to Be Sickas if she wrote it; she seems to understand the intention behind every word I wrote. And so, we’re on our way to producing an audiobook. That’s an example of the value of divergent thinking—thinking in terms of possibilities instead of in terms of limited choices.

As for friends, I began to think that there might be more than the two options I’d settled on (that those who stuck around cared about me and those who didn’t stick around didn’t care about me). When I opened my mind to other possibilities, I discovered that some friends who haven't stuck around do indeed still care about how I'm doing. They aren’t in contact for other reasons. One of them is too uncomfortable around illness because of her experience with her own parents [62] suddenly taking ill and dying within a few months. Another person, unbeknownst to me, developed serious health problems of her own.

Consider whether you tend to be a convergent thinker or a divergent one. If you’re the former, you’re likely to see limited choices instead of being open to possibilities. If you’d like to work on becoming more of a divergent thinker, I have two suggestions.

First, whenever you’re considering a course of action or forming an opinion about something or someone (including yourself), pay attention to whether you’re assuming you have limited choices—it’s this or it’s that; she’s like this or she’s like that; I’m like this or I’m like that. Second, use the Thich Nhat Hanh practice I’ve written about before: Am I Sure? Ask yourself, “Am I Sure?” before you assume you’ve considered all the alternatives available to you or before you make a judgment about something or someone. Having tried these two suggestion, then start looking for more possibilities.

Open your mind and see where it takes you!

I like to keep my answers short with my limited time to expound on all of your fantastic contributions that get us thinking about "how" we think. Bringing in these diverse concepts into the picture helps us realize when we get stuck, solve problems, feel helpless or feel the possibilities of freedom or well-being. 

The concept of convergent thinking can play an important role when we must narrow down the options in order to find a solution, a path or one answer. If we must choose a school to attend, noting the negative and positive qualities, the favorable or unfavorable aspects of a choice lends itself to convergent thinking. 

Convergent thinking we might consider black and white, yes and no, can or can't -- these can put us into a rut of feeling stuck or when we 'can' then thinking we will reach the goal. 

However, divergent thinking paints the world with a broader brush. We see the benefits amongst the risks or black areas of our situation. By thinking divergently, we open to bigger possibilities. How all of this plays into our understanding of the vaccine environment, I suppose, means that we take in more information that will develop our concepts and provide more knowledge to make our choices. 

Allowing ourselves not to be limited to black and white information, but to open our eyes to points that may chip away at a rigid belief system will move us into a place of free choice with greater knowledge. Blessings, Debby

It's an established medical and legal fact that vaccines cause injury and death, and no one can tell you what your or your child's reaction will be, or when and how severe. This alone provides more than a sufficient basis for all to be allowed to make an informed choice and to have free access to all relevant information.

But states around the country are implement laws requiring more and more vaccines for more and more people while simultaneously limiting free choice--often, unconstitutionally.

For example, some states have laws allowing *children* to consent to vaccines; others have bills that, if passed, will also do that -- blatantly unconstitutional (infringes on parental rights). [see www.nvicadvocacy.org [71] for a list of current state vaccine bills].

No one can tell you if vaccines provide a net benefit, if any, really. The FDA and CDC have stated that 90 - 99% of vaccine adverse events are never reported. So, there's no data available to make the assessment.

A non-profit org. obtained information in 2011 through the federal Freedom of Information Act proving that CDC officials know that vaccines cause autism. They deliberately withheld data from a study showing this; the resulting study now "proves" that vaccines don't cause autism -- but fraudulently.

I have faith in humanity, on the whole. I believe most doctors, state and federal health agency employees, and pharmaceutical industry employees are honest people of integrity. But there is absolutely a conspiracy at the level of key decision-makers in each of these arenas.

When you control those few key people or positions, you control the thinking of most of the nation, and in any event, the policy and law for all. There is deep, systemic corruption at work here (among other arenas), and that has lead to the unnecessary yet deliberate introduction of chronic disease throughout the population, providing an enormous market for pharmaceutical drugs, and the unnecessary but deliberate death of many innocent babies, children and adults.

For those who are skeptical that anyone would knowingly behave in this manner, consider the $ billions in *criminal* fines that the pharmaceutical industry gets every year, increasingly in recently years. Glaxo: $1B criminal fine 2012; Pfiser: $1B criminal fine 2009; fines in the $100's of millions are common. This industry routinely engages in criminal behavior, because it's profitable to do it. And who knows how much of that behavior goes on under the radar, the fines, of course, are only for those times that they get caught.

About Me/ Mardy and Dogs

  (Scooter The Wonder Dog, who was a certified therapy dog I borrowed from my significant other and used at work in the early 21st century, after her 'retirement'. She is age 16 here, and had gone deaf 2 months prior to this photo when it was the year for her to have 'all' the vaccines typically suggested and required in Colorado, given on the same day. the next day she was completely deaf.

Shortly after this photo was taken, she started chewing on her feet and I took her to a veterinarian who lived near my home and his interest was piqued by what occurred with her sudden loss of hearing and looked online and came up with a solution, he proposed (printing and mailing what he found online. Back we went, and it was drops that went in the ears which included DMSO and other things, $18/bottle if I recall correctly, and her hearing did come back! She smelled like DMSO (garlicy) and ultimately her owner didn't want to keep up with the treatment and eventually she lost her hearing again after treatment was stopped.  Lesson to me: Our teachers come in all forms. Scooter also taught me a great deal about sensing about people; her owner was a Vietnam veteran with many of the medical issues found in that era of military servant.)  It is believed Scooter was 19 at the time of her death.  

About Cat / Feline Vaccination Issues

This is something I set up for people to find and link to that was information I learned about from a Lyme advocate / educator on Facebook who had said 'hey, we're treating these bugs in us and doing a 'whack-a-mole' approach and what if we're giving and reciving these things back and forth with our pets, who are also infected'.  

The link was to a professional website and the topics were written of all things, by an old and good friend of mine, Michael Lappin, DVM. I left Fort Collins, where he was with the renowned veterinary teaching hospital, in 1996 and he was a canine guy at that time. But apparently he got into felines not long after that as the information at the website was from the late 1990s. I found that so interesting because I could have been bugging him about SpoildeyCat but had missed the memo that he'd made that switch. I'd actually seen him over the years at social gatherings with our old, mutal friends. 

I highly encourage pursuing reading his work, particularly if you have cats, whether you knowingly have anything like Lyme lurking in you (it is thought by progressive researchers that 80% of Americans do). I also highly recommend people keep in mind the 'divergent thinking' we've brought into play on this topic, and realize there is a lot of 'interplay' and 'cofactors' going on. It's very complex and someone who can break it down and write it up (or speak it out) in a way that it's very understandable for the average person who is health information-seeking are invaluable.  I hope that I find GRATE resources for our YOUsers at Lumigrate. 

About Me/ Mardy and Cats

                                                     SpoildeyCat, seen here tolerating well being decorated for a Valentine's Day photo in 2012, is enjoying watching 'the great outdoors', age 2-1/2. She would have her first 'episode' of odd, aggressive behavior which I wondered had anything to do with genes being 'tweeked' from the vaccines she'd received not long after this -- perhaps I added stress to her by having her pose for a Valentine's Day photo -- she actually didn't seem to mind it at all, as she had become used to a collar in order to go outside safely in the great outdoors she loved so much. (She's looking out to a bit of a 'wild life area' which comes complete with predators of small animals.)

I held off on further vaccination once she had significant problems present, and I have been learning from her to look again or 'harder' at "nature versus nurture" -- genetics plus the things, good and bad, that comes to the animal, human or otherwise, that are stressful or alleviate the stresses on the body, mind, and spirit. "Load Theory" as we call it after a new Dr Spurlock-provided topic in the forums about chronic pain, fatigue, illness. "Full Barrel Syndrome" as we called it from the start of Lumigrate thanks to naturopathic doctor Christopher Lepisto's provided educational information for Lumigrate YOUsers. (You can search on those keywords at our Search bar.) 

I got her at 5 months, I was her third home, some trauma went on with the people in that family resulting in jail for one, guardians for others, and SpoildeyCat needing a new home when I just happened to be in her path of travel. She'd just been spayed and vaccinated and all that 'usual stuff'.  It was a blessing to me (and hopefully to her) as her symptoms presented as we got to know each other; sensory integration / sensory processing problems and symptoms that eventually made me think 'she has a lot of the same 'stuff' I have -- isn't THAT interesting -- a cat and a human having such similar issues. Why would that be? What are the underlying reasons?

Even with my knowledge about my own history and symptoms of a variety of things that I've come to see very interrelated in terms of the underlying causes and how they contribute together to something I see in increasing numbers of people today, it was very difficult at the time to figure out what was going on with her. Was it somewhat to do with vaccines and her unique genes? I don't know, but I suspected it likely could -- I know they are a major factor for me (because of my genes and what is in the vaccines not being a good mix, and what I have with my genes is not that uncommon and it affects the detoxification capabilities of the body). But I made some nice connections for YOUsers of Lumigrate to know about, and more to share in terms of another situation from which I'd gained more wisdom (and scars). 

I am also witnessing, in my time at the locally owned pet supply store (shout out to Colorado's ChowDown) how many people are learning more about their own human wellness when seeking out the advise of knowledgeable staff at a pet supply store. And I am no exception! I asked them about veterinarians who might be more progressive about vaccination, such as doing titer testing, and was given the name of a DVM about two hours away. 

SpoildeyCat was a 'tortie' and always was very sensitive to "energy", sounds and movement, etc. She had been mind blowing remarkable when we were present for the 'home stretch' and passing of my father -- she actually honored his wishes and laid outside his open room door keeping an eye on things and being near but not in the room -- somethign she'd NEVER obeyed prior to that time.

Right now I'm thinking recently about her high intelligence and lightning fast reactions and seeing a correlation to humans I know with similar qualities who I believe are considered in mainstream circles to be "on the autism spectrum." They're 'just wired different' -- in the case of some with autism, there's a lack of pruning of neurons at a certain point when that normally occurs so they have essentially a brain overgrowth situation. That's the kind of autism that Dr Temple Grandin has, and it is believed Einsten and Tesla had. I believe my father had, and perhaps I have a bit of it too, though. I don't go looking for more labels from the conventional circles but I do like to learn what those labels would be as they become Search words for study and learning (and then presenting / teaching / providing at Lumigrate for our YOUsers too).  

I very much appreciate the education path that Debby Bruck has brought my way, and I hope you will as well if this is of interest to you. SpoildeyCat's case was featured on the weekly webinar by Debby and Dr Christina. As the advocate and human guardian for a reliant animal, I made my best attempt to find info. Later, after her euthanization, I learned more information via a Facebook group about Lyme disease, ironically, which, further ironically, was written by a long-ago friend of mine who at that time was a canine veterinary researcher.

And whenever I listen into the discussions with the homeopaths, I'm reminded of the above convergent / divergent thinking information. An animal becomes unwell and it's not that easy to see one thing that caused the other, but it's cumulative -- many things.

And that brings up the fascinating aspect about aging -- to some extent it is the cumulative, 'accumulation' of toxins such as heavy metals that reaches a high level, but is it also the body not being as able to adapt, due sheerly to the body's systems not being as efficient. But remember, what is the likely life expectancy of a supremely well human being? Right now there's a woman who is 127 and I'd learned that it was thought the number would be 120 to 130 years, ideally, if a person had what they needed and NOT what was detrimental. Natural medicine believes that if you get it 80% right, the body can adapt for the 20% not right. Dogs should live, apparently into their 20s or to 30. Cats into their 30s. Think about that!

I read a doctor's perspective about brain injury in young athletes in a Denver Post story in recent years, and he was quoted as saying, basically that 'all it is that heals brain injury is time'.  I thought that was so not the way I see things: it is what you do or do not do in your 24 hours/day of time that has the consequences to heal or not ... damage further or not. I hope this gave YOU much to think about!

NOTE, summer 2013 I added this note: Happily, I learned a great deal after writing this from SpoildeyCat. Unfortunately, she was, like all of us, a victim of "this and that and the other thing" adding up and triggering disorders she had the genes to develop -- the "load theory" I referred to, above.  

Thankfully, the experienced, holistic, homeopathic veterinarian that I learned about from the local pet supply OWNER (not the staff, it was the owner who was involved on many of my visits to the store) knew of the extremely rare disorder that had perplexed so many of us, and firmly said  they're "dangerous cats" and need to be euthanized, which was done that day in an integrative way -- conventional medication and aromatherapy for the staff, the animal, and me, the owner / guardian. For as busy as they were, having taken in an injured hawk as an emergency that afternoon before our appointment time, they were very supportive of the mind. 

I have learned more from a little 10# cat in a few years than any other single thing in my career and personal live, I believe, or it is up at the top with some other powerful experiences. The women involved in this story, Stephanie's mother, is my former step-daughter, and I want to support her efforts getting the word out about Stephanie.  It's always unfortunate to know of people having these kinds of devastating health problems when we hear about them in the news, or now on the Internet, but when you 'know' the people involved, it simply hits 'closer to home'. And I also want to say how impressive this topic is on Lumigrate, one I wasn't even aware of! So I think it's neat we have the 'full circle' between us we do, and I hope this part I've added helps people make the right decisions for them related to vaccines. 

I was a relatively new occupational therapist when the vaccinations that caused so many cases of Guillon Barre disease were administered, and many of my patients in the hospital for rehabilitation were among them. That's when I re-evaluated what I do related to receiving vaccinations, and thankfully the industry re-evaluated and changed the flu vaccines as a result. Perhaps things are still not quite refined completely.

I also wanted to thank you, Mardy, for the conversation privately which helped me put some pieces together of the many factors that come into play and make these kinds of illnesses so difficult to diagnose and treat. I hope that everyone working to help Stephanie find the underlying reason or reasons and solutions are successful in alleviating her symptoms. 

So, in support of this mother and daughter, who now have such significant challenges, I wanted to share this story here and hope that it's of value to the people reading this article at Lumigrate wanting to learn more about vaccinations and becoming informed and educated patients.

Gardasil: the journey no one should take…

I write this story hoping it helps save at least one girl; then our journey will not have been in vain.

I will barely touch the tip of the iceberg; so much has happened over these past 4-5 years. It has been a whirlwind and like a whirlwind – an unwelcome event.

Stephanie was 23 years old at the time of her 1^st Gardasil injection. As most young adults, she was working, had her own health insurance and took responsibility for her health and medical decisions. She had been a Type I diabetic since age 10 and knew the importance of taking care of herself.

At her regular check up, the doctor said she needed to get this “NEW” vaccine for humanpapilloma virus (HPV). So our journey began.

Steph received her first shot in June 2008; the second in October 2008. The night of her second vaccine, Stephanie was admitted to the intensive care unit with an acute respiratory problem and sky rocketing blood sugars.

The 3^rd injection was in December 2008.  Early in 2009, Stephanie took a trip to Mexico. On the way back she experienced uncontrollable vomiting, headaches and body aches. Once again she was hospitalized.

Thinking she may have picked up something while in Mexico, we pressed the hospital and doctors to check for parasites and pathogens. All tests came back negative.

She was hospitalized over and over again with the same symptoms. Test after test revealed nothing. Finally she received a diagnosis of gastro paresis, thought to be a result of her diabetes.  Her body was also full of yeast. One gastric empting test came back inconclusive, another came back slow.

Here is the clincher; we did not give any thought to the vaccine because we did not know she had the vaccine. It was not until we started realizing that her symptoms were not exclusive to gastro paresis, that I pressed Stephanie asking what she may have done differently or been exposed to.

This is when she said, “Well, I had a vaccine.” Keep in mind she was an adult who trusted the doctors. She did not think this was relevant – they would not give her something to hurt her.

It would be close to 2 years before realizing what could have caused Steph’s “mystery illness.”

While on my Facebook page, a large flashing ad on the left of my screen shouting ‘One more girl’ got my attention. I clicked on it and found that several girls had the same symptoms. I had so many questions!  ......

I'm so sorry to learn of this, but thank you for sharing this here with us, Petie. The comments on this post, when you go to read it at the link provided, were really interesting to me.  There's a setup by someone in the S. California area who generously provides her e-address for people to contact her as well as giving the name of a doctor who sounds like an outstanding resource for people in that area. The website looks like a great resource overall. I notice that Alan Phillips, who's commented on this topic two months ago, is one of the attorneys listed in their resources.

I found it interesting that Stephanie's mother refers to Facebook and an ad popping up that helped her get on the 'detective' trail about what appears to have potentially contributed to this change of health status for her daughter. Many people are 'creeped out' by how Google or Facebook's ads reflect things that you've typed in the body of your private messages or emails and I have to think that might have been why she had that ad provided to her page. I guess this is an example of how that kind of 'internet surveilance' works in a person's favor sometimes! 

She brings up the concern that many have about young people being allowed to get the vaccination without parental consent. That's a very interesting topic. I'll speak for myself as a young person, under the age of 18. I didn't have 'normally attentive' parents, and personally believe I was making good decisions for myself when I was a young teenager. In addition to navigating my own life at the time fairly well, I was having to navigate parents who were struglling with illnesses that were, by that time, affecting their daily functioning and the overall 'function' of their marriage and the home. 

IF I felt that the patients were being adequately told about the risks and benefits of any and all vaccines, but particularly the ones for HPV, in a professional, appropriate way, I'd say that I think young people should be able to get vaccinated without their parents being involved. Some of the young people I've worked with (who were 15, learning to drive) made some of the best health decisions about medications that I've ever seen with clients/patients. As a matter of fact, one parent was pushing the 'child' to take antidepressants and the 'child' did homework and said 'there's no evidence about safety when taken by adolescents, so 'no'." and suffered the consequences: not being allowed to get a driver's license until they were of legal age they were not the responsibility of the parent. (Who was paying for the now 'adult' to learn to drive through the program I worked for, not a 'bad parent', simply was concerned about the legalities of having a dependent driving and being responsible for damages. This is where Petie/you and I first met, as her son, Thomas came to us related to driving expertise as well, then we were co-workers a couple of years later, that 'sealed our deal' and here we are still, almost fifteen years later, working together THIS way!). 

The youth of today are growing up in a time where they've learned to question things and to think about things; I grew up in a time we just 'trusted' all that modern medicine was providing us: I've learned the hard way, not to do that. To be clear, sometimes allopathic medicine is the right thing, I'm not 'against' it, I'm just against it being used primarily. They also use social media and communicate with a lot more people per day than in our old days, so they'll hear about these types of cases and presumably be aware. I hope they don't feel 'pressured' by the entities and 'experts' that are suggesting things to them, and that they're simply presented with the options and a 'recommendation' at the most, not 'pressure'. I hear that word a lot when it comes to vaccines. 

As this story demonstrates, people often are told, or at least they 'hear' the provider telling them they 'need to get' the vaccination being discussed.  I'd like to see there be requirements that physicians and the other providers who give vaccinations present other options such as the kind of things Lumigrate teaches overall -- be good to your gut and clear up any problems stemming from your gut, having to do with if you're eating foods that cause 'leaky gut', candida yeast overgrowth, get your vitamin D levels checked and supplement appropriately to have levels where your immune system can kick bugs out the right way, hydration with pure water, ..... and certainly be aware of things about the risks of alcohol and other drugs, and mixing with other drugs, such as common over the counter pain relievers... (There's MUCH to what brings down a person's immune system or boosts it up, but I've given some of the highlights here, please look further on Lumigrate for more information.)

It's another 'step' further down the path, but ultimately learning about heavy metals accumulating in your system, to me, is something critical for people to at least be aware of, and I wish it were more accepted and paid for by insurances and everyone who's not feeling ideally 'well' had access to testing and treatment. I also wish no water treatment plants were making the decision for people that they should have the fluoride chemical added to water; it's simply not the same form found in the ground in the first place, and even if it were good for you, which nobody on Lumigrate thinks it is, the dosing based on how much water you consume is just ridiculously poor reasoning. 

Unfortunately, so much of what ultimately helps people stay or get well, or closer to it again, has to come out of the pockets of people who all too often have financial issued because of the ongoing health issues that have been going on for a while before they find the 'path' to functional medicine which looks at things like heavy metals toxicity, the gut, prevention and overall wellness of mind, body, and spirit. 

I hope she gets the expertise of a doctor that is a detective doctor, doing functional medicine to figure out what lead her to lose her well-being status and that she gets back to or toward wellness! ~~ Mardy

The website that Petie directed us to related to Stephanie's Story also appears to be a well thought out organization; they don't come across to me as being anything 'anti-vaccine', just wanting to make people aware of the problems that people today have from the vaccinations we've been dealing with in most recent or further back times and hoping that change comes through the advocacy and education people collectively obtain from visiting such websites. Sane vax (dot) org.

Knowing the terms to Search on often helps people, such as 'vaccine injury'. Searching on "time from vaccine to manifestation of symptoms" was something that I found helpful in looking into a case I was made aware of related to someone who went from not being aware they were near the tipping point to 'chronic illness/environmental illness' to compromised functioning and pain, energy and strength problems. They are having to learn so many things in so short a period of time, at a time that is difficult for them as they're not functioning 'normally', such as the above 'divergent' and 'convergent' thinking.

I see it over and over again, people don't see it's MANY factors leadingto MANY symptoms and it finally 'whammed' you! Then the great question comes next "then how do you prove it if it does have something to do witht he vaccine?" THAT is where the experts have to be called upon. Clearly many people file for damages and some are found by those in charge to be validly deserving of being awarded damages; others are not. It's likely a 'fight' that takes time, energy and directly or indirectly money so it is a decision each person makes as to what route to take if they suspect vaccines are part of what caused their situation.  Again, the Lumigrate YOU! Model is 'all about' that decision being put in the patient's hands -- it is just my place to empower and remind about that, and provide the leads for educational foundation to get people 'going in the right direction' if they chose to head in a direction.

While some will chose to seek damages, others might chose to do nothing and stew in anger, or others might look for the solutions to rectifying the damages from the products or situations that lead to their becoming ill. Again, we stay well due to holistic, mind/body/spirit, reasons and we become ill if things affecting the whole person (or other animal) acumulate and 'tip' them to 'ill'. Sometimes all people might be doing a bit of many things; everyone who talks about having 'forgiven' wrong-doing will say that they don't always stay in that higher place. It's a process. 

There is much on Lumigrate about what causes illness and outside the box thinking about how to recover wellness or maintain it for those who are still in the 'wellness' place. That can assist people who feel they have been injured by vaccination(s). There is a lot of information about the shame/blame cycle of anger and frustration and the process to get to forgiveness, which often takes having professional help. Letting go might be what is needed BEFORE someone can even decide what to do about a process that is in the legal realm that takes energy. Or someone might want to hop into that process while in the earlier stages. Everyone is different. That is why it is difficult to tell someone who wants the shortcut answers what they need to do -- there are many different paths to the same end result.

 Hi Mardy............I have an update on vaccinations.  I had a cat, named "Scooter" interestingly enough, that died from the vaccinations being injected in the same place...........his shoulder.  He developed cancer at this site and had two unsuccessful surgeries, then died when the cancer spread. 

The veterinarian confirmed that the vaccination caused the cancer at that site, leading to his death. This was many years ago and I have been told by my current THREE cat's veterinarian that the protocol they use now is to chart where vaccinations are being given and change the location of these shots to prevent this from happening. 

Just letting people, pet guardians know and to be aware and educated about this potential problem; their vet might not know this information and it seems to be a good thing to do.

Interesting about the name similarity of my 'old therapy dog' and your cat, Peite; I'm sorry to hear about that and it's also great you told us about how your current veterinarian currently does vaccination charting of location. I hope this is valuable information to our YOUsers/readers here on this topic. 

It's an area where a LOT of professionals are rolling up their sleeves and trying to contribute to figuring out solutions and the problem reasons. Example: I've talked with a chiropractor in the past who had a patient, a young child, who had symptoms of having chemical toxicity from vaccination and they'd do their treatments and get it detoxed out so the kid didn't test as having the chemical 'invader' anymore, and the kid would be 'well' again, then nosedive again into illness.

But the child was no longer testing with weakness with applied kinesiology (A.K. testing) with a vial of the chemical that it had in the past. I believe they went ahead and would treat again as they did before and the symptoms would go away but then come back. So the mother brought in the child again, who was having symptoms, and the doctor (of chiropractic medicine) was going to test again, and as he was holding the child's arm that was going to be used for A.K. testing to see how the usual chemical offender tested that day on the child, he happened to drop the vial of chemical from his kit against the leg of the child and he got the 'drop' of the strength of the muscle being tested.

It turns out that was the place where the injection of the vaccine was administered! And it was on an acupuncture meridian, so the last I knew they were rolling up their sleeves to collaborate and figure out more about that, write, speak/get the word out. That was a few years ago, so perhaps people can find something on the Internet now with Searching on words like vaccination / acupuncture meridians.

I presume the human medical people chart where they give the injections -- and anymore you can get them at your local grocery store or big box pharmacy. I personally think that's just ridiculous, pharmacists have enough on their plates keeping up with the pill mill they have to work and with high precision of what they're doing. I've gotten mid-done prescrptions from pharmacies who have their pharmacists set up without a good setup for concentration and focus. 

So what to do if you've been injured by a vaccine? STUDY ABOUT VACCINE HISTORY and the reform that went on if you're in the US or are interested in it. Some call it a 'kangaroo court'. I found it suspicious that there are very, very limited number of attorneys who are in the system to represent people who have had vaccine injury, and they're all in the East Coast area from what I could see. I checked extensively for Colorado as this person I've been helping with information recommendations is in Colorado, and there's not one attorney in Colorado who is part of that system. So that was how my radar went 'up' about it. But it is the system that is in place and it is there for people to take advantage of if they want to pursue things and believe they've been injured. Again, this reform occurred as a result of the enormous expense that resulted from the class action lawsuit against the vaccine I received an injury from in 1981. (Which I would NEVER have been aware of to this day had I not happened to see 20/20 the week they reported on it when it occurred.) This was the way they could afford the repercussions of the enormous numbers of people, essentially. 

What if you're suspicious of vaccine being involved in symptoms you're researching, but you're not 'sure' if it's from a vaccine or not? In addition to the 'self-serve' information I provided, above, on how to find sites, I wanted to provide one here, and I might find more in the future and tack on. I found these while searching for someone I'm currently assisting with getting education about their medical condition that had an onset of disabling inflammation system-wide in the last six months, who, it turns out, received an injection. This person had initially given me the impression they had a vaccine plan for many years which was to not get themselves or those they're responsible for as a parent vaccinated. 

As I was working on this topic thread, we discussed things more, and so I asked just to be sure, and sure enough, there had been a vaccine before symptoms began, but it was a few months after and the person just didn't think/suspect it. (This is what had occurred with me in 1981 as well, it was 1990 before I connected the dots).  Again, I remind people I'm only relating the side of the story that I am best versed at relating, please do your own research on the prevailant information out there about vaccines that are from sources that are recommending vaccines. And then decide for YOUrself what is right for YOU and those you make decisions for or have input with. 

It turns out there were symptoms this person hadn't attributed to the vaccine which are on the lists for that vaccine at the vaccine courts resource websites, shown below. It was attributed to 'age' and not being in shape for the activity. To psychological stress at work/school and personal life.  Without talking with someone specifically about that symptom, they'd not been 'aware' that the weakness and joint pain they had with the activity was a SYMPTOM at that time of something going awry in the body, it was not that activity which 'caused' the downhill spiral that followed a day of activity. This was not a couch potato person, the previous summer, before the vaccine, there was a physical job performed 40 hours a week and outdoor activities such as bicycle riding. They were almost a 'busy bee' kind, very active. 

I belabor some of these details to point out how people HAVE TO SIT DOWN and THINK and RECORD what has gone on. If you're doing this with the assistance of a health advocate or 'detective', or I call myself a health concierge as well, they'll take you through this process more than likely. But for most who read this, they're doing 'self help', so that's my suggestion. And BRAINSTORM it... get that pen or pencil flowing on flash cards or lists or whatever it is that works for you when you study something, and don't think 'oh, that's not a big deal', write everything down, you can line through or put to the back of the stack the things that are not as relevant if you want, later. Stephanie's case reminds us -- they lost time, PRECIOUS TIME when you look at the information on how little time a person has to file a claim for vaccine injury in the US, but fortunately they eventually figured out that she had received the vaccine, in this case Gardasil. 

Talk to those who witnessed the changes and who would perhaps think of something the 'victim' wouldn't -- two heads are better than one, as for instance a much younger or older person in the family or friendship circle, coworker friends, etc. might have a different point of reference about something. Ideally, get help with this from your closest ally because you're going to need someone like Stephanie's Mother in your court.

I always like to show people the steps, to get them started doing their 'homework', though with laptops and smart phones they might be at work or at a coffee shop doing their 'work' related to learning about vaccines and what their plan is for getting them (or not), and what to do if they suspect they're one of the many who are injured. I had pointed the way to tell people about the resource area at the website Stephanie's Mother had posted her story, Sane Vax. So, in addition to the above-mentioned lawfirm which had great information that came up for me in a Search on certain keywords, I wanted to bring just one of the firms listed as a resource at Sane Vax, and CHCC is what I selected.

I recognize their website from the past when I was searching for my own curiousity about the 1990 rubella class action lawsuit, which I learned about on a Friday evening when watching 20/20. It is the moment the lightbulb went on for me about the symptoms I'd had that started in 1981, shortly after .... I had a vaccine! For rubella/German measles, as to get married in Colorado at that time, women had to have a blood test which was not, as people had thought, for STDs, it was presumed since it's not good for developing babies if the pregnant mother gets rubella, they'd vaccinate women getting married if they didn't have titers in their blood for the disease.  Trust me, I've gone through the whole range of emotions -- (anger),  (tears), feeling like the medical industry is perhaps a bit like  (the devil)! I have  (a broken heart) over how things unwound for me after what was supposed to have been the happiest day of my life back in July of 1981. I have recently, thankfully, been able to (laugh) about the irony of it all -- I got married to a guy who wanted kids, I was a 'planner' and didn't want to have kids until he was out of college and with his career underway and I'd completed my college and gotten my career underway. I felt it best to save up money and purchase a house before having a family -- I was into family planning, obviously -- and we'd ideally each have cars which were owned by us, not by a bank. At the time, we had my car and that was all, and I had bought it with savings, actually, my father had bought it when he saw it on a used car lot when doing his usual lunchtime walkabout outside of his Denver office building.

We got divorced within a few years and I never was in a position again with someone who wanted to have children. So I received what turned out to be a very 'bad' vaccine with 5% of adults ending up with autoimmune diseases onsetting after, per the lawsuit, all because the State of Colorado was allegedly trying to protect babies which weren't ever to come from my uterus. And if you saw the state of my uterus when it was finally removed about 25 years later, due to the endocrine system problems that are simply part of the medical condition I have, which is not considered 'autoimmune' by the way. I believe it was 'caused by' or 'significantly contributed to' by the vaccinations I received on top of other toxins my mother and I had gotten into our bodies over time, and I can only hope that you'd hopefully laugh too, at just the irony of it. Not funny haha, funny UGH!

It just is such a 'story' of how well-meaning thinkers at the State legislature, who were likely approached by well-meaning medical people long before anyone realized how people do get injured from vaccinations, ended up indirectly doing so much harm. But eventually, in order to have your sanity in an insane world, as Marianne Williamson says, one has to 'become deeply sane'. And to me, that means forgiveness,  healing your heart over what you thought your life was going to be like before everything changed, and making peace with it all. And for me, that includes helping others in my path, following in my footsteps. I missed the vaccine injury process and 'boat', but I fortunately found my way to functional medicine and have done relatively well by being able to work mostly full or part time throughout my second career as an occupational therapist, and then creating Lumigrate.com in 2008/9. I hope it is a bit of positive karma, or some might look at it as , or hopefully at the very least !

I was not, by the way, getting married because I was pregnant, but considering many people do, the whole logic of it to me now, makes absolutely no sense. If the State wanted us vaccinated for it, why not do it before we're potentially pregnant, like they do today with the HPV vaccine they apparently start suggesting to 10 year olds sometimes? At any rate, I was a sheeple at the time, though I remember reading the information about risks with the RN at the University Health Center standing by, and I was concerned about the skin rash that was listed since I was going to be in photographs of the wedding.

She suggested I come back and get the vaccination before I turned in the license provided by the minister officiating the marriage at the courthouse. And I did, and didn't think anything of the connection of the 'reverb' I was getting in my hearing, that I presented with very soon after, to the health center, then was referred to the ENT. Back in those days they had a really great system on campus and referring off campus to specialists, paid for in your student fees. 

At any rate, I believe this is the law firm which was at the helm of the biggest class action lawsuit in the United States up to the time of the tobacco lawsuit of 1994. One of my Facebook friends in Europe/Germany had shared something that caught my eye - and in reading it I thought it would fit in well right here on Lumigrate. As I frequently do, I'll provide this one topic in full below so you have a good idea what type of information is at the website and you'll believe me when I say "Take the time and click and go !"

All information containing new and unprecedented conclusions begins by being violently opposed by those who create the prior information and those who subscribe heavily to it. This is very much the case with the link between Autism Spectrum Disorder and vaccines; mainly the MMR vaccine and other thimerosal containing vaccines.

It is clear that the stance from mainstream science is that there is no link between vaccines and autism. You can find more about thathere [109]. But for many people this does not dispel all concern. Dr. Hooker, PhD, PE says that the recent U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) study on vaccines and autism is “perhaps the most flawed and disingenuous study” he has ever encountered.

Given the number of first hand cases that make their rounds stating that children are immediately affected by certain vaccines and parents are noticing something is ‘wrong’ suddenly with their child, it is easy to see why people are still concerned. In every vaccine and autism link article we have on CE, there are many comments from parents stating that they watched their child change within hours and days of getting certain vaccines. So is there truly reason to be concerned? Are we just paranoid? Or is there something we have not figured out completely yet?

Regardless of the droves of faithful people hanging onto every word the CDC gives them about the safety of vaccines, I think it is incredibly important that we look at all of the information that truly exists and make our own educated decision. Many claim it is dangerous to question vaccines and I have been threatened on many occasions for writing about it, but it isn’t going to take away the fact that people are being damaged by vaccines. That is a cold hard fact that every parent needs to know about before deciding to vaccinate their child.

The truth is, there have been several court cases where families have been granted damage pay-outs due to what vaccines and their ingredients have done to their children. The cases are directly linked to autism and brain damage. UPDATE:  I do feel that even if only a 51% majority in decision is needed, the cases are plaintiff vs. The Secretary of Human Services. If the statement that vaccines had no link to autism was completely factual, these people would not have a case against one entity that would surely have a lot of firepower around the issue. Regardless, their victory illustrates some important factors. In terms of the size of the cases, there are an estimated 5,000 additional cases still awaiting court dates. The reason why it’s much harder and why a class action lawsuit is not possible is because the government inserted a law to protect vaccine makes after they were being forced to pay out billions in damages to families. It came a point where enough was enough when it came to their loss in profit so the gov’t stepped in to assist, unfortunately this isn’t favorable for the people but only business.

Is there more evidence linking vaccines to autism? Yes. While some studies exist to state that their is no link between vaccines and autism, I have found several that do show a link. Given the existence of these studies and their results, I think we need to truly examine whether or not vaccines are safe and if it makes sense for us to blindly follow what we are told to do when it comes to vaccines regardless of the dangers. I can already hear the comments that will come in from people stating the dangers of this post and that this is some conspiracy, but it is not. Realize that this is much more of a real and serious issue than many think.

Below is what I have come across in terms of studies thanks to the tireless research of people out there who care about uncovering the truth.

Viral / Immune studies:

Abnormal measles-mumps-rubella antibodies and CNS autoimmunity in children with autism [113]

I generally suggest that people look at anything that discredits in a 'bullying' way as 'consider who that source might be', and make your own assessments of what is believable to YOU. I noticed that Lulu Langford posted on Facebook that she'd found one of the best websites she's ever seen about vaccine injury. So that's saying something! Lulu was one of the first experts I connected with on Facebook after Lumigrate was live on the Internet in 2009, and she registered and has some topics on Lumigrate in the forums, so you can Search for her. I jokingly titled a topic that she was a lulu of a homeopath or something along those lines. She's in Australia and I think we're two peas from the same pod, so to speak, except she's a little more pragmatic than I am, I'd say. Passionate, clearly, and very frustrated at the way the system that has been in control of things has made it difficult if not impossible for providers to help the people they could be helping AND make a living at it via natural, traditional medicine. 

This is a link to a topic at the website which is a paper by a law educator about vaccines. I found it really very educational and it's so off the beaten path that it's very much the kind of resource I like to make our YOUsers aware of -- things you'd not likely find freewheeling on research online. As is my 'usual format', I'll provide a sample of the information below, so you can see what you'll find if you 'take the trip and see the sites' at the link. Tons of interesting stuff all under one 'roof' there. An old roof, it's a very old website (late 90s it appears is when it was started).

Now that I've said that, in case there is some sort of problem with the site in the future, I'm going to 'mirror' this topic by the law professor so that it's backed up somewhere and isn't lost forever if a website meets a demise somehow. In order to make this more readable by brains that are dysfunctional for visually overwhelming information, I will be adding breaks into the material so it will appear differently than it does at the original site.

But PLEASE go to the website and look around and see what all is there. A listing of every kind of disorder that has any believed connection by them to vaccine, and I found interesting information about the high number of medical workers who believe a rubella vaccine injured them. I was immediately with ear problems, then headaches, breathing problems, chemical sensitivity, weight gain and endocrine system problems after receiving a rubella vaccination required by the State of Colorado in 1981 when I was getting married (and had low titers for it on the blood test). Immediately as in days or weeks, I was at the ENTs office within a couple of months.

Prologue

A basic question of justice is whether any harm can knowingly come to an innocent group member for the good of the group. As ILs, we were taught in our criminal law class of the case of the Regina v. Dudley & Stephens in which the castaways adrift in a lifeboat without food desire to and eat the cabin boy. [FN1] The majority resorts to the murder and ingestion of it's weakest member. When the party is rescued, the captain and mate are convicted of the murder. This case is included in the casebook to teach us that the very survival of the group is placed secondary in our system of justice to the principal of the sovereign rights of the individual to life. When faced with an imminent threat of death, human beings are pressed to the limits of their willingness to sacrifice themselves for the sake of another. Rationalizations begin to form about the inferiority of the intended victim.

In the Open Boat case, the victim was seen as the weakest. Perhaps he was, but our system of justice requires an adjudicative process by an impartial jury because absent this process, it is impossible to determine the fitness of the survivors for society. The impression of this case is commonly one of incredulity: naturally, under such conditions the law of Social Darwinism will control, it is to be expected given our animal instincts for self-preservation. And the fact that the lifeboat represents its own microcosmic society calls into question the larger society's ability to judge the local justice carried out therein. A common inference drawn from this case becomes that the form of justice we are sworn to uphold being more than sand-blind, high gravel blind, knows reality not. The law students can picture themselves in a like situation and taking their chances for survival that they won't be the unlucky one who gets eaten. [refer to vail of ingorance]

The dictate against human sacrifice did not originate in Anglo-American jurisprudence. It is one of the cornerstones of Western civilization. In Greek Mythology, Agamemnon, the king of Mycenae and leader of the Greeks in the Trojan war is killed by his wife Clytaemnestra for the sacrifice of their daughter Iphigenia. He sacrificed his daughter to appease Aeolus, the wind god, so that his fleet could expedite the rescue of Helen. His fate indicates a rejection by our culture of human sacrifice.

We normally classify human sacrifice as barbaric when there is a plausible motive for it, as in the case of the Open Boat, and as savage when the motive is to appease a Deity, which makes no sense to a modern thinker. We associate human sacrifice with primitive tribal culture in the jungles of Africa or the Amazon basin, untouched by the influence of Judeo-Christian morality. But insofar as Judaic morality is an authority in our culture today, the instruction of God to Abraham to not sacrifice Isaac represents a moral edict that we have nominally been following for millennia.

With such a clear moral standard in our religious, cultural, and legal traditions, how is it that we are sacrificing the lives of many American citizens every day under the auspices of the National Vaccine Program? The death toll acknowledged by the Program during the past 7 years is 1094, [FN2] and this excludes the death claims which fail under the strict legal rules for establishing causality. Former Food and Drug Administration Commissioner David Kessler said in 1993 that only about 1 percent of serious vaccine reactions are reported. [FN3] After two full years of speculation on this subject I have let myself believe that the serious adverse reaction rate is beween 1/3000 and 1/300, which would be from 333 to 3333 times more dangerous than the public health propaganda suggests.

Suppose my worst case scenario is right and 36 babies a day are dying for the war machine. This would make women scared of having them in the first place if the odds of your government killing your child are such that 36 of his birthday perish each day. What odds are these? are they close to a hundred times the 1094 over seven years, over 100,000 dead babies. Lets take my independent worst case scenario of 36x365.25x7=92,043. So according to Dr. David Kessler, it's about as bad as I feared it might be.

Assuming an an age cohort of 30 million, the odds of dying are 0.307%. or 1:326. Do we really lose 13,200 young children every year? According to the CDC SIDS deaths peaked in 1988 at 5476 out of 3.91 million live births yielding a mortality rate of 140.1 per 100,000. [FN4] It is reported that SIDS has recently shown a marked decline to a level not seen since 1980, falling to the third cause of death among post-neonatal children. If the other two are bigger, then there were more than 12,237 neonatal deaths in 1994.

Also included is multi-year averaged deaths rate per month, seeming to asymptote at under 5 deaths per 100,000 per year after infancy, or 30 more deaths over six more years for a childhood death toll of about 15,000 small children lost each year. If vaccines were responsible for half of childhood deaths, this would correspond to a death to combined death-serious injury ratio of 7,500/109,400 or 1:14.6, using Kessler's estimate. The propaganda ratio at the extreme is 1,000,000:326 or about 3000:1.

My Gestalt at the other extreme of likelyhood of vaccine injury is 3000:1, so perhaps three orders of magnitude or slightly higher to one is a fair estmate of the risk of serious adverse reaction to vaccination at about 1:1000, not the claimed 1:1,000,000 or even the marginally tolerable 1:250,000. It is clearly intolerable by at least two orders of magnitude.

The bulk of the vaccine injury in this century was in its latter half, coinciding with the post-war Cold War, beginning with the endorsement of the Committee on Infectious Diseases of the American Academy of Pediatrics in 1947 of the three-in-one DTP vaccine. [FN5]. Another major killer of the past half century is the rubella vaccine, which began life as a eugenics experiment in a Nazi germ warfare laboratory and was licensed for wholesale use in 1970 in this country. [FN6]

Although mandatory vaccination goes back into the nineteenth century and was upheld as constitutional by the U.S. Supreme Court in the 1905 Jacobson decision, it is under the motif of perpetual warfare: against Communism, Disease, Poverty, and Drugs; that whatever standards of medical ethics existed before have been thrown to the winds, perhaps to appease Aeolus?

The problem with the War on Disease, as with any other type of war, is that the first victim is Truth. It is a postulate of war that one exaggerates one's successes and tries to bury ones failures. A further postulate is that the need for crash programs to develop new vaccines has stemmed from the need to obscure the fact that one of the prices of our proxy wars in Asia were epidemics of communicable diseases which were carried back home by our soldiers.

The rationale for vaccination has always been that the alternative is worse: that more would die if the preventive measure of vaccination were not taken. Taken to its logical extreme, we today have the common opinion of medical doctors that to not have one's children vaccinated should be punished as a form of child abuse. [FN7] Yet recalling the Open Boat example, it is criminal to sacrifice the one for the sake of the many, no matter what the cost/benefit ratio is claimed to be. This type of utilitarian analysis is fundamentally against the Western cultural conception of justice.

How has this corruption of our ideal of justice as represented in the case of the Open Boat taken place? At the root of the problem lies the U.S. Constitution. The creation by the legislative of the coequal executive and judicial branches laid the foundation for the establishment of an aristocratic class. This encouraged the division of society into a hierarchical system which depended on experts whose authority had to be taken as given.

In particular, the rise of the status of medical doctors in America was acknowledged through the acceptance by the U.S. Supreme Court of the doctrine of "high medical authority". [FN8] In Jacobson and its progeny, the doctrine of high medical authority is used to preclude new countervailing medical evidence, and thus presents the root of the problem of obtaining private justice in the modern Vaccine Court, i.e. the legal establishment of causation of the vaccine as the source of the injury or death.

To really address the root of our problems as a society we need to reconsider our form of government. But it is a long term project to convince enough people that the United States Constitution is fundamentally immoral and illegitimate. In the absence of more practical legal tactics, the Vaccine Program will continue to maim and kill masses of people, mostly but not all of them children.

Thus the purpose of this paper is not to directly cause the collapse of the United States Federal Government. Here it will be enough to demonstrate some of the flaws in the law and flaws in the utilitarian medical analysis of costs and benefits of the Vaccine Program, in the hope that a more rational vaccine policy than the one we have at present could be accepted by high medical authority.

We are not in an Open Boat. We are not all about to die immediately if we change vaccine policy. We have other ways of preventing epidemics, such as not having our armed forces roving the planet, not having a virtually open border with Mexico, and not mass institutionalizing our infants and children. And we have highly developed techniques for treating illnesses when epidemics do break out which have not historically existed. And we need to turn away from the activist approach toward health typified by American medical practice, toward a more respectful attitude toward the will of the patients.

The bulk of this paper adopts a utilitarian approach to the vaccine dilemma we face. The first steps on the path toward healing the wounds is to present a reasoned argument that doctors and lawyers could accept. All they must do is consider evidence that benefits of the National Vaccination Program are exaggerated by an unknown amount, and that the costs are underestimated by a factor of somewhere between 300 to 3000.

From the legal point of view, the manifest injustice of the current system of compensation leads to recommendations for legislative reform. Increased visibility and success rates for vaccine injury cases would raise more public awareness of the threat posed by vaccines, and would someday lead the Supreme Court to overturn mandatory vaccination laws as violative of human rights to life and liberty. This would lead to the possibility of a fair assessment of relative morbidity and mortality of those who voluntarily choose vaccination to those who decline vaccination. This would then lead to profound revulsion at how sadly mistaken high medical authority has been, which in turn might cause enough general doubt about the U.S. Federal Government for the people to call a constitutional convention to establish a replacement.

Part I - Introduction

In reviewing the legal, medical, and popular literature on the subject of vaccination one finds near universal agreement that in the balance, the world is a better place with the practice of vaccination than without it. Universally, in all the legal and legislative materials I have seen, it is announced at the outset that vaccination has been a good thing for the public health.

For example, the two most recent comprehensive law review articles which analyze the National Vaccine Injury Compensation Program (NVICP) [FN9] begin with such declarations. In Striking a Balance Between Product Availability and Product Safety: Lessons From the Vaccine Act [FN10] author Daniel A. Cantor quotes the House Report which was the basis for the establishment of the NVICP:

During the twentieth century, America has developed a childhood immunization program that many praise as the most spectacular public health success in history. [FN11] In Note: Is This The Best We Can Do For Our Children? [FN12] author Lisa Steel acceptingly cites the leading Jacobson case which established the constitutionality of mandatory vaccination under the police power of the states:

The constitutionality of required immunization is well established. [FN13] Such an infringement on individual liberty is justified because immunization programs benefit all of society by decreasing the number of carriers of diseases and eventually eradicating certain viruses. [FN14] Even in a democracy such as ours, the government must ensure that the welfare of society is not jeopardized for the comfort of a few; this principle applies to the public benefit provided by mass immunization programs. [FN15]

Even Barbara Loe Fisher, who co-founded the National Vaccine Information Center (NVIC) as a resource center for parents whose children have been injured or killed by vaccines after her son suffered brain damage from a DPT shot [FN16], has not taken an anti-vaccinationist position, but merely urges that vaccination be voluntary with informed consent. [FN17]

Yet, even though Ms. Fisher is generally considered a legitimate player within the system, she has recently been demonized in the New Republic magazine by Arthur Allen by being lumped together with an outright anti-vaccinationists such as Dr. Len Horowitz [FN18]. The cover of the March 23, 1998 issue of the magazine shows a girl from the back and a doctor's hands; one hand holds out the girl's arm and in the other holds a syringe which points to her arm. The caption reads "This Won't Hurt a Bit ... So Why Are Conspiracy Theorists Attacking Childhood Vaccinations?" The article begins:

President Clinton's ongoing initiative to immunize every American child against infectious disease seems like the kind of safe-as-milk, baby-step health policy that everyone should love. The ultimate motherhood issue. But Clinton, presumably, didn't consult Len Horowitz. A former dentist-turned-"healthcare motivational speaker," Horowitz is carving out a new niche in the history of the paranoid style in American politics.

His message: The AIDS and Ebola epidemics resulted from the contamination-- possibly intentional--of common vaccines by the military-medico-industrial complex. The Rockefeller Foundation, the Centers for Disease Control, famed AIDS researcher Dr. Robert Gallo, and--yes--Henry Kissinger all figure in Horowitz's gallery of germ-warfare conspirators. Horowitz, who apparently honed his expertise on such matters by drilling teeth in Gloucester, Massachusetts, has urged the government to stop immunizing children until independent researchers can determine if the shots are spreading disease.

The article goes on to explain that although there have been 63,000 adverse reactions, including 1094 deaths reported to the Vaccine Adverse Event Reporting System (VAERS) [FN19] over the past seven years, it still may be that all of these events may be purely coincidental and that there is still no proof of the danger of vaccination.

Most of the legal commentary acknowledges that the NVICP has failed in being what Congress intended as a generous, non-adversarial system [FN20]. The difference between the present and previous commentary is that whereas within the academic legal community there is a feeling that the overall awarded damages should be perhaps 5 times what they are at present, this author will try to demonstrate below that they should be roughly 1000 times what they are at present, consistent with the belief that the risks of damage associated with vaccines have been underestimated by roughly a factor of 1000.

The annual payout from the NVICP is about $110 million a year. A payout of $110 billion a year is feasible if we adjust our current budget priorities. For example, we could take this entire amount from the defense budget, and still surpass military spending by any other nation on earth. And it would be a small payout to actual victims compared to the largely redistributionary Social Security and Medicare programs. It would involve expanding the Table Injury categories [FN21], which spells out when there is a presumption of vaccine injury, to basically include the diagnosis of any chronic illness, including allergies, within two years of the receipt of any vaccination.

Changes to the table of this magnitude would obviously need to be made with a Congressional vote, so to achieve such an outcome will require a serious public awareness campaign. Yet at the margins of the program, the same thorny problem of causality for injuries which will fall outside of the table will remain. Conventional commentary [FN22] holds causality to be the main problem responsible for the failure of a majority of worthy claims. This central problem to practice in this area of law is discussed in part III. Part II presents the doctrine of Vaccine Law in order to properly inform the subsequent legal analysis of the causality problem.

Part II - The Development of 20th Century Vaccine Law

A. From Jacobson to Whitecotton

The leading case in the area of vaccine law is Jacobson v. Massachusetts in which a local mandatory smallpox vaccination law was upheld under the police power applied to public health. [FN23] It is noteworthy that the famous Lochner v. New York case was decided differently during the following term. [FN24]. In Lochner, the police power of the state to promote public health was denied when it attempted to set limits on hours worked in New York bakeries.

The Court ruled this to be an impermissible interference with the right of contract between the bakers and the bakery owners. An essential difference between the cases is that in Jacobson, he was required by law to be acted upon, whereas in Lochner the bakers were forbidden by law from doing something. The court is placing greater weight with freedom to act than in freedom to refrain from acting. This is a slim distinction, since freedom to refrain from acting really is a form of freedom to act in accord with one's wishes.

A more realistic differentiation which renders the two decisions intelligible with reference to one another is that in both cases, the commercial interests prevailed, that the economic activity, whether baking or injecting, was furthered by the decision. Implicit in both of the Court's decisions is the belief that baking and being injected with smallpox are risks too small about which to be overly concerned. Indeed, a large portion of the Jacobson case concerns itself with just this question of costs v. benefits of vaccination, and as such it set many of the standards for what are permissible demonstrations of the costs and benefits.

In Jacobson, the Revised Laws of the Commonwealth provided that 'the board of health of a city or town, if, in its opinion, it is necessary for the public health or safety, shall require and enforce the vaccination and revaccination of all the inhabitants thereof, and shall provide them with the means of free vaccination. Whoever, being over twenty-one years of age and not under guardianship, refuses or neglects to comply with such requirement shall forfeit $5.' [FN25] Jacobson is obviously arguing on principal, not over the size of the fine but his right to life and liberty.

As it happened, he and his son had had the direct experience of having already been seriously injured by previous smallpox injections. An exception was made in favor of 'children who present a certificate, signed by a registered physician, that they are unfit subjects for vaccination.' [FN26] From this limited exception we already see the illogic of setting fixed sets of rules. Why should an unfit 17 year old automatically become a fit 18 year old.

In fact the risk of serious adverse events at least in some vaccines increases with age. For example, it was established over a quarter century ago that there is a large increase in the development of arthralgia and fibromyalgia following rubella-containing vaccination of roughly an order of magnitude. [FN27] A review of 124 such claims to the vaccine court also showed an order of magnitude increase in the number of such claims filed associated with adult versus child rubella immunization. [FN28]

At a recent meeting of the Advisory Committee on Childhood Vaccines, established under the Vaccine Act of 1986, as a source of non-binding advice for the Secretary of HHS, in regard to a question about whether straight measles or MMR should be used in the newly instituted college vaccination programs, Dr. Stephen Hadler, chief epidemiologist for the CDC, stated 'there was a higher incidence of acute arthritis at 18 [than as a child], but far less than the 20 to 25 years of age'. [FN29]

Nonetheless the University of Washington's policy, based on advice from the CDC, is irrational in that it sets a age requirement that is fixed by year born after 1957, meaning that each year it becomes a riskier policy, which now includes entering students over 40, which is twice the acknowledged unsafe age.

The reason that the policy was set at 1957 is because it is presumed that those born earlier were exposed to natural measles and thus are presumed to be immune, whereas those born later were probably vaccinated, and since it turns out that the vaccine-induced immunity is temporary compared to the permanent immunity conferred by the natural disease, a "booster shot" is needed for everyone under 41.

A problem here is that the claimed need for a measles booster can be had for colleges for free or at negative cost only if it is in the form of the so called 'preferred vaccine', MMR, which is known to be unsafe, untested, and unapproved for use by the FDA because of the arthropathic tendencies of the R component. In truth, enormous monetary waste goes into the program by giving MMR when only the measles is needed since the manufacturer receives about $12 for an measles shot and $36 for an MMR.

When the University of Washington immunization program was set up, no consideration at all was given to the known possibilities of vaccine injury, so in effect potentially deadly rubella vaccine is currently being injected into every student who cannot demonstrate two prior measles shots, for no public health reason at all, but simply to save the University $12 for a straight measles shot and let the federal taxpayer pay $36. The point of this digression is that we can see as early as in the Jacobson case how thoughtless and harmful an overly broad public health measure can turn out to be.

Jacobson defended his refusal on three separate grounds. He claimed that the particular section of the statute of Massachusetts in question [FN30] was in derogation of rights secured by the preamble of the Constitution of the United States; that one of the declared objects of the Constitution was to secure the blessings of liberty to all under the sovereign jurisdiction and authority of the United States, no power can be exerted to that end by the United States, unless, apart from the preamble, it be found in the body of the Constitution.

Knowing from his own experience that he would place his own life in jeopardy by obeying, he knew he was in the Open Boat dilemma. But the Supreme Court declined to give credence to his assertion. The court also passed without discussion the suggestion that the statute is opposed to the spirit of the Constitution. Was the spirit of the Constitution, as argued by the Federalist Papers to protect the minority from the democratic majority? In historical realty protection of minority rights began as protecting the property owners, who are the minority. Since the modern civil rights movement, the idea of the protection of minorities has been reinterpreted to extend protected status to blacks, Hispanics, and women. It is yet to consider the special protection for genetic minorities, who are more real than racial minorities in a biologic sense.

As will be discussed below, the susceptibility to harm from the rubella virus seems to be related to the presence of certain genes in the individual. [FN31] But in 1905, the Court, finding no violation of the Constitutional spirit apparent to it, quoted an earlier case in answer, "Undoubtedly, as observed by Chief Justice Marshall, speaking for the court in Sturges v. Crowninshield, 'the spirit of an instrument, especially of a constitution, is to be respected not less than its letter; yet the spirit is to be collected chiefly from its words.' [FN32] We have no need in this case to go beyond the plain, obvious meaning of the words in those provisions of the Constitution which, it is contended, must control our decision." Jacobson also defends his action under the due process clause of the 14th amendment. The Court does not answer this defense meaningfully either.

The Court then proceeds to consider Jacobson's offers of proof why he should not be compelled to take the smallpox vaccine. The Court found that the ninth of his propositions which he offered to prove, as to what vaccination consists of, was nothing more than a fact of common knowledge, upon which the statute is founded, and proof of it was unnecessary and immaterial.

The court here demonstrates how a little knowledge is a dangerous thing. It is still to this day not a clear what vaccine is made of. It is highly secretive business; in the case of the polio vaccine, it has turned out to have been contaminated with SV40 monkey virus. [FN33] And it can be reasonably inferred that there are other as yet undiscovered organisms grown in the petri dish in the laboratory.

The court then considers Jacobson's thirteenth and fourteenth offers of proof involved matters depending upon his personal opinion, which could not be taken as correct, or given effect, merely because he made it a ground of refusal to comply with the requirement. Moreover, his views could not affect the validity of the statute, nor entitle him to be excepted from its provisions. [FN34] I doubt any of these cases involved the potential loss of life of the citizen. It's true that drafting soldiers puts them at risk. But even in that case there is some causal distance, unlike in the case of vaccination.

Next, the court considered the other eleven propositions which all relate to alleged injurious or dangerous effects of vaccination. The defendant 'offered to prove and show by competent evidence' these so called facts. But the court declared that the only 'competent evidence' that could be presented to the court to prove these propositions was the testimony of experts giving their opinions.

The Court declares that for nearly a century most of the members of the medical profession have regarded vaccination, repeated after intervals, as a preventive of smallpox; that, while they have recognized the possibility of injury to an individual from carelessness in the performance of it, or even in a conceivable case without carelessness, they generally have considered the risk of such an injury too small to be seriously weighed as against the benefits coming from the discreet and proper use of the preventive; and that not only the medical profession and the people generally have for a long time entertained these opinions, but legislatures and courts have acted upon them with general unanimity. If the defendant had been permitted to introduce such expert testimony as he had in support of these several propositions, it could not have changed the result. [FN35]

The court seems to be saying a number of interesting things here. The court declares a priori that it is impossible to prove that vaccines are dangerous. Why should not the individual confronted with authority be free from the possibility of harm. How is it that we allow human sacrifice? It seems incongruent with the radical individualism.

But part of the resolution of this puzzle is in that we are forced to be gamblers to be winners. And we can say, it won't happen to me, the odds against are 1 in a million. And tough luck on that loser, I'm not going to get this disease. Furthermore, when V.P. Morris changed the University of Washington vaccine policy, he was pleasing his boss and wasn't even told that anybody might get hurt

Also we see here that only the testimony of experts can be admissible. Here again it's the doctrine of high medical authority, even necessarily overriding whatever experts had to say, weighed against what "everybody knows". This standard is striking in that the standard proof necessary to prevail is impossible to achieve, and that everybody accepts it. But this everybody accepts it doctrine is weak. It disallows the discovery of new evidence of risk. And it accepts without question the idea that human sacrifice is an acceptable social regulation.

But human sacrifice is ultimately an anti-social act. Over the past seven years, US courts have now found vaccine responsible for more than a thousand dead and 7,000 wounded. How can secular authority play G-d? Is the court here trying to say that every state welfare demand is permissible? Certainly this is not the case in 1998. A factor to be kept in mind is that it is mostly children who suffer the consequences of vaccination; there may be less consideration for infants just as there is tolerance for abortion or euthanasia: that there has yet been little social investment made or social utility remaining in the social member, so that if they are genetically susceptible, minimal capital needs to be expended on them.

The court goes on to argue that the welfare of the many should be honored by restraining the non-complying social members. The problem here is that Jacobson was not doing anything to hurt anyone else, he was just existing in Cambridge. It is he who sought to restrain the authorities. The court mention that there are some times when a man is free to submit to authority, but it just doesn't go deep to the essence of when such a condition obtains. Jacobson felt that his life was in immediate danger based on his own concrete experiences.

If there is any time for the exercise of this form of resistance, this is it. It is interesting to see how the court says what everybody knows, the state court must know and we must know. What it is that everyone must know is what high medical authority states. Again there is no consideration to the fundamental right to life.

The Court then goes through an exhaustive list of cost/benefit studies to justify its conclusion that the vaccine program must continue. But a republican form is opposed to the tyranny of the majority. It is the protection of the minority upon which the whole concept of federalism rests. In this case, it is a genetic minority, let's say. Should they be rubbed out of the gene pool? Then the Court claims that the many will really be hurt by the few who don't participate in the vaccine program.

This is totally false. An exemption could be made for those who claim previous adverse reactions. The herd immunity theory does not require all to be vaccinated. As will be described shortly in the Whitecotton case, the Courts policy translates into the grotesquely injustice situation where baby Maggie was born neurologically defective, was damaged by DPT and later damaged again by DT! Besides, if the program were voluntary, the people would make an educated choice as to whether they want the shot or to risk getting the disease naturally.

The one saving grace of the Jacobson decision which would allow a new case to be made to limit a program such as UW's vaccine program is that it requires that the general terms of the local law should be so limited in their application as not to lead to injustice, oppression, or an absurd consequence. [FN36] So ultimately, the Jacobson case, which is still controlling vaccine law after more than 90 years, may be ripe for a case which would limit the holding by establishing a boundary beyond which the court would find unjust, oppressive or absurd.

As implemented, the University of Washington program is unjust in that it discriminates against students in favor of faculty, and is absurd since potentially fatal viruses (rubella and mumps) are being given to the students with no public health justification at all.

Moving from the turn of the 20th century to the turn of the 21st, we find very little change in the Supreme Court's attitude toward vaccination. As will be described in part III, the problem of proving causation with the expert witnesses and the available research is a difficult one. The recent Whitecotton case is the only post-National Vaccine Compensation Fund case to reach the Supreme court (twice). [FN37]

Margaret Whitecotton was born on April 22, 1975 with evidence of microcephaly (small head size). There was a controversy over whether one has to be 2.5 or 3.5 standard deviations below mean head size to be considered microencephalic. She received her third DPT vaccination on August 18, 1975 and was hospitalized thereafter with a seizure disorder. Over the next several years, she experienced additional seizures, was formally diagnosed with microcephaly and cerebral palsy, and had episodes of febrile convulsion and limpness. Her parents filed a claim alleging that she suffered from an impairment of brain function known as encephalopathy, as a result of the DPT vaccine.

Recovery of compensation pursuant to the Vaccine Act is possible in three ways:

(1) through a rebuttable presumption of causation, in which petitioner shows that the initial onset of an injury listed in the statute's Table occurred as a result of the vaccine, within the time period after vaccination that is listed in the Table, prevailing over the government's rebuttal that the injury was caused by a factor unrelated to the vaccine;

(2) through a rebuttable presumption of causation, in which petitioner shows that the vaccine caused a "significant aggravation" of an injury listed in the Table, within the time period after vaccination that is listed in the Table, including a showing that the first symptom or manifestation of the significant aggravation occurred with the Table's time period, prevailing over the government's rebuttal that a pre-existing condition, not the vaccine, was the cause of the significant aggravation of the injury; or

(3) through a showing that the vaccine was the actual cause of the injury.

With respect to the Whitecottons' "initial onset" claim, the Special Master determined that no compensation was due because microcephaly was a symptom of the encephalopathy pre-dating the vaccination. Therefore, in the view of the Special Master, the child already had encephalopathy prior to the DPT vaccination. The Whitecottons challenged this determination.

The Federal Circuit affirmed the Special Master. The court noted its review of fact-finding to be limited to whether the Special Master was arbitrary and capricious or committed an abuse of discretion (citing the previous vaccine compensation cases of Hodges and Knudsen). Although the evidence before the Special Master was conflicting, the court cited the substantial expert testimony supporting the Special Master's decision as precluding a finding of arbitrary and capricious or abuse of discretion.

Of particular interest is the Federal Circuit's statement that it can only consider in its review the evidence that was originally before the Special Master, and not evidence (including scientific studies) outside of the earlier record. While this makes sense as an element of the law of evidence and due process, it may not comport with the ever-advancing scientific knowledge base of the relationship, or lack thereof, between vaccines and medical injuries.

With respect to the petitioners' claim on the "significant aggravation" theory, the Federal Circuit established the following four-part test for special masters to use in deciding whether compensation should be awarded:

(1) assess the person's pre-vaccination condition,

(2) assess the person's post-vaccination condition,

(3) determine if the current condition is a "significant aggravation" of the pre-vaccine condition, using the definition in the Vaccine Act ("any change for the worse in a preexisting condition which results in markedly greater disability, pain, or illness accompanied by substantial deterioration of health"), and

(4) determine whether the first symptom or manifestation of the significant aggravation occurred within the time period specified in the Table.

The government may still rebut petitioner's causation claim by showing that the pre-existing condition was the cause of the significant aggravation post-vaccination. Since the Special Master in the Whitecotton case did not use this type of test, but instead applied a theory that the Federal Circuit characterized as overly burdensome to the petitioner in establishing causation, the court reversed the decision of the Special Master that had denied compensation and remanded for additional fact-finding and determination consistent with the new four-part test.

The Federal Circuit specifically directs the Special Master to consider on remand a piece of evidence that the court believes was not considered previously -- the first abnormal electroencephalogram (brain wave test) taken four days after the time period specified in the Table. The court expresses concern that this evidence was not evaluated by the Special Master in reaching the conclusion that there was no "significant aggravation" in this case.

The Whitecotton case demonstrates how aggressive the government and the medical communities are about forcing literally every child to be vaccinated, and how difficult they make it to collect when damage occurs.

Given the known neuropathic potential of DPT vaccine, why a microencephalic baby would ever be subject to the normal vaccine regime makes one question the intelligence of the health care providers and the government who ought to be provide guidance critical situations such as this one. Even after Maggie Whitecotton's condition was arguably made worse by a DPT shot, her doctor presumed the danger was from the pertussus component, but low and behold, when a DT shot was administered instead, more apparent damage resulted. [FN38]

Though it's rather obvious that Maggie was injured by the DPT, the government uses esoteric language to argue that her small head size was to blame for her condition. One should properly ask, if it cannot be determined a posteriori whether a pre-existing defect in the child or the vaccine was a primary factor in the neurological injury, how is it fair to subject the child to the risk for which there is little chance of compensation?

B. The Wakefield Study

It is perhaps not coincidental that the New Republic vaccine conspiracy cover story appeared just a month after an article by Wakefield et al. appeared in the Feb. 28, 1998 edition of the Lancet. [FN39] The article strongly suggests that the large majority of children coming to the hospital with a syndrome including Ileal-lymphoid-nodular hyperpasia, non-specific colitis, and pervasive developmental disorder (autism) had come down with the disease within two weeks after receiving MMR vaccination.

As always happens in a case of a publication such as this, the medical authorities, in this case in Britain, vigorously denied there was any significant danger from the MMR vaccine. In the month following the Lancet article, there were many of reports in the popular press of either doctors discounting the danger, or the public taking matters into their own hands by refusing to have their children injected with MMR.

According to one report, about 25% of British parents have currently lost faith in this vaccine. [FN40] If the percentage remained fixed at such a high rate of non-compliance, the this might be the beginning of the end for the worldwide DPT and MMR programs. It would give rise to a cohort of unvaccinated children who could be compared as a group to the vaccinees. It would allow the world to see for the first time which group subsequently suffered more from those suggested in the Wakefield article as well as from other forms of illness such as myopia, MS, asthma, diabetes, and arthritis. Thus there was need for a media barrage to restore confidence in the vaccines. There was the New Republic conspiracy cover story.

And then in the May 2, 1998 Lancet appeared a research letter, claiming "No evidence for measles, mumps and rubella vaccine-associated inflammatory bowel disease or autism in a 14-year prospective study." [FN41] Unlike the Wakefield paper which included very complete clinical and laboratory investigation, the Peltola letter simply looked back through the past 14 years of Finnish MMR immunization, looking for children who had reported gastro-intestinal disorder following MMR injection.

Of the thirty reports of stomach ache, they tracked the children down and interviewed them about autism Crohn's disease and found no such cases, which lead them to their conclusion. Wakefield replied in the press that their methodology in no way undermined his assertion, which seems obvious by comparing the two papers.

But perhaps what matters more in the near term is the fact that the press seized on the Finnish letter as a sign that there really was nothing wrong with the MMR vaccine. The number of articles on LEXIS citing the Finnish article and trying to call off the scare was about 5 times higher than the original reports about Wakefield's research of the concern. It seems to me that what is happening is that there is a systematic bias in the media which is controlled in part by vested interests in maintaining the status quo. In this light, the New Republic article seems to be a hit piece designed to keep the petty intelligentsia hooked into believing in the system.

It has been estimated that autism alone costs our economy $12 billion a year in labor and lost productivity. [FN42] If it turns out after sufficient study to be so that most childhood autism, asthma, arthritis, diabetes, Crohn's disease, myopia, MS, and other neurologically related disorders would not have occurred had we not had a vaccination program, the potential annual cost of the vaccine program could be on the order of $100 billion a year, rather than the nominal $100 million that is figured as the programs cost. If we found this to be the case, then it would be a much better world in which that portion of the economy was used to treat many of the newly created cases of chronic illness could be focused on the already damaged.

C. The Tingle Example

The recent media smoke screen to cover-up the revelation over the connection between MMR and autism is just the latest in a familiar pattern. Over the past year there have been new reports of a connection between MMR and arthritis. Each time such a report comes out, a counter study appears purporting to deny the link and the media tend to trumpet the counter studies which deny the link. Thus the game continues.

But eventually the truth of the science will win out, because the reports showing the links are becoming more mature scientifically. For example, Mitchell et al. have recently published a study of 283 white women in a double blind study who were given RA27/3 rubella vaccine or saline placebo injection. [FN43]. The odds of developing arthropathy were 1.9 times greater (confidence interval [CI] 1.07-3.44) in the women who received the rubella vaccine. This rather conclusive evidence was not done three decades ago as it should have been done because to obtain funding for a study like this is practically impossible.

Mitchell et al. actually looked for and found certain genetic markers in their patients which disposed them toward arthropathy. Leukocyte DNA was molecularly typed for HLA-DRB1 gene expression. Univariate analysis revealed higher frequencies of DR2 (odds ratio [OR], 4.8;95% CI 1.2-18.8) and DR5(OR 7.5;95% CI 1.5-37.5) but lower frequencies of DR4(OR, 2.3; 95% CI 1.1-4.9) and DR6 (OR 2.8; 95% CI 1.4-5.8).

Risk of arthropathy was influenced by DR interactions; odds were 8 times greater in individuals with both DR1 and DR4 (95% CI 1.45-44.03) and 7.1 times greater with both DR4 and DR6 present (95% CI, 1.85-27.54). These advanced genetic studies begin to give a hard scientific basis to the tangible risks of rubella vaccination. They also reify the notion that what is being done through the vaccine program is a form of genetic weeding out of the human race, with the potential for targeting with what that implies.

Tingle has shown that the intrinsic arthropathy-inducing properties of rubella virus differ only by a factor of two when the wild strain is compared to the vaccine strain. [FN44] Coupled with the genetic susceptibility, what this implies is that those who are genetically susceptible to rubella arthropathy are more at risk in taking the vaccine than if their chances of catching the virus naturally are less than one half.

Extending this logic to the population as a whole, the whole premise of mass vaccination can be questioned if the truth is that there are no significantly population averaged less serious adverse reactions from the vaccine or the wild strain by probability of infection product. In other words, the premise of the Vaccine Program is that there are devastating consequences if an outbreak were to occur.

But if the ones who would have gotten sick in an outbreak are the genetically susceptible ones, then giving a vaccine to them might make them just as sick with a significant probability, only their illness will not be associated with the virus because there is no sudden outbreak.

There is an addition danger of the vaccine program which has not been investigated which is that total viral load is not being considered as more and more vaccines are mandated. Also it is at least plausible that multiple strain infection takes place with intimate contact, thereby multiplying the viral load, and that the vaccine strain of rubella may actually be causing unacknowledged birth defects by casual contact between a pregnant women and a recent vaccinee.

Part III - The Problem of Establishing Causality in Modern Vaccine Caselaw

There are two basic types of claim under which a petition may be filed with the Program. [FN45] There are the injuries which fit the prescribed conditions of the Vaccine Injury Table [FN46], and those which fall outside the narrow criteria of that table. The table lists the various injuries which have been accepted by the Secretary as having been established to her satisfaction by the medical community to allow a presumption of causation if the injury can be shown to have occurred within the time period specified in the table.

The initial Table has been modified a few times since the law was passed in 1988, in accordance with the part of the Vaccine Act which calls for her to direct the Institute of Medicine of the National Academy of Sciences to review the medical literature and make recommendations for expanding the Table of presumptive injuries. [FN47] The most recent emendation of the table was made in March, 1995, and primarily added chronic arthritis resulting from the MMR vaccine. [FN48].

The secretary made the changes in response to an Institute of Medicine report. [FN49] But the Secretary did not follow the recommendation that the onset of chronic arthritis occur within six months of vaccination, but rather limited the onset to 42 days, simply for the stated purpose of limiting the number of claims that would qualify for the table, under the theory that to accept the recommendation would be too costly to the program. She acted for this reason even though the program has a $1.2 billion dollar surplus which is rapidly rising since only about half of the excise tax is currently being awarded.

It is unclear that this money will ever get to it's intended beneficiaries, as an attempt was made last year by the Secretary of the Treasury to reclaim this surplus for use in the general budget, arguing that it is obviously unneeded to pay out vaccine injury claims. The action by the HHS Secretary is an perfect example of how the law fails to ensure a fair compensation system. Although she is the adverse party to the claimant, a Federal Court of Appeals has found she is free to do unconditionally as she pleases in changing the vaccine table, thereby making her case against the claimant much easier in many cases.

Not only does the Secretary take a more conservative line in setting policy on presumptive injury than does the Institute of Medicine, but the IOM itself is very conservative on admitting causation of injury due to vaccination. In its definitive 1994 treatise, the IOM in most suggested categories takes a non-affirmative position on most injuries. [FN50] Its standard conclusion is "The evidence is inadequate to accept or reject a causal relation between..." vaccine X and condition Y. [FN51] Not only does this conclusion result in the condition being excluded from the vaccine injury table, but makes it very difficult to argue in court that there is proof of a causal relation, since the experts have suggested that there is no conclusive proof, and the vaccine act has been interpreted to require such proof. [FN52][FN53]

For example in Johnson v. Sect'y HHS, although the plaintiff had three experts opining that her fibromyalgia (FMS) was caused by an MMR vaccine, it was deemed by the Special Master that a causal connection between the rubella vaccine and chronic arthropathy is tenuous and has not been medically established. [FN54] This was upheld by the Federal Circuit, under the Overton Park arbitrary and capricious standard of review. [FN55] This is a good example of the injustice of the system because this author personally knows as he sits here typing this paper that, with absolute certainty, the MMR vaccine does cause FMS.

Just as the recent controversy causally relating to MMR and autism, described in Part II of this paper suggests, establishing scientific causation for any iatrogenic injury is extremely difficult. The standard that the Federal Circuit has adopted follows the reasoning of the Supreme Court's Daubert decision. [FN56] Daubert nominally advantages plaintiffs in toxic tort suits over the previous Frye standard [FN57] in applying Rule 702 of the Federal Rules of Evidence, which permits testimony as long as it follows a scientific methodology and is relevant to the inquiry. One of the factors which are not determinative but demonstrative of scientific validity is publication. The Special Masters in the Vaccine program do not have to follow the rules of evidence, but they generally do allow the plaintiffs experts to testify.

Part IV - Recommendations

A. Recommendations for Legislative Reform

By most accounts, the National Vaccine Injury Compensation program has not been adequate to the task of fairly compensating the vaccine programs victim's. The basic problem is that the Secretary of Health sets the all important vaccine table however she pleases. She naturally has an incentive to save her department's money to spend in more politically rewarding projects. Therefore, Congress should recognize the injustice of the current situation and construct a much more liberal injury table.

There is nothing approaching informed consent in the vaccine clinics. Mandate that every new parent receive a copy of the injury table and an fair assessment of the risks of vaccination.

Declare a 2 year moratorium on vaccination to determine what the risk are of an outbreak of disease and how much harm such an outbreak would bring, versus observed reduction in new chronic illness.

Create a national study of chronic illness in these babies compared to year 1999 and year 2001 babies. The infant chronic illness database. There is already a nation vaccine database being created, and this should be expand this to mandate the reporting off all illness into the record. Have a toll free number where the parent directly reports illness to the database.

Make reasonable exceptions from mandatory vaccination for weaker or more delicate children.

B. Setting a limitation on Jacobson

Jacobson grants the states police power to mandate vaccination. Unless vaccines could be marketed which to not kill or seriously maim certain individuals, the Open Boat case discussed in the prologue should govern: society has no right to kill its genetically susceptible members, so Jacobson ought to be overturned on moral grounds.

But the endgame of the vaccine racket may be achieved within the framework of Jacobson. It should be possible to find a test case which the Supreme Court would find to be unjust and absurd. In fact, I think the University of Washington vaccine rules fit such criteria. By winning such a case, a milepost would be set on what is permissible and what is not. For example, using MMR on adults for no really valid reason when it has never been tested on adults in a controlled study and is known to be dangerous to a significant fraction of the adult public is absurd and unjust.

Just because they are not published in a peer reviewed  journal does not mean that they should be ignored. A  recent study published in the peer-reviewed journal Translational Neurodegeneration provided epidemiological evidence supporting an association between increasing organic -Hg exposure from Thimerosal-containing childhood vaccines and the risk of an ASD diagnosis.(2) [154]

Multiple researchers that are published in peer-reviewed journals are constantly bringing up a potential link between autism and vaccines, and new studies at that. Thought it's focus is about canine veterinary medicine, don't let that dissuade YOU if you're interested about human vaccine information, because the article's author did a great job of showing the history of vaccines for dogs (which relates to the history of vaccines for humans), the schedule and details in what is provided with the vaccine product by the manufacturers versus what is the standard of the dog industry (which includes groomers, boarders, and not just the laws of the land relative to animals being vaccinated). She teases out discrepancies, and anyone familiar with the human version of organized medicine will see the correlations, I think. And those that are not yet as knowledgeable but learning will find a nice, easy, well written article that is a GRATE overview about the vaccine monkeybusiness (just a favorite word I have take up using, ).

The untold story of vaccination schedules, science and speculation

I’ll preface the following article by clearly stating that I’m not a vet. I didn’t attend veterinary college and it’s certainly not a profession I aspire to. I’ve got six years of university and two degrees under my belt, so I know the kind of debt that vets enter into when they graduate. I also know that the vast majority of them make very little money for the amount of education that goes into their career.

But I’m a dog lover and I do like to think that I’m a fairly intelligent and rational person. I don’t want to see dogs get hurt and vets certainly don’t want to see them get hurt. I truly believe that.

So what really baffles me is why vets continue to use vaccination protocols that are harming our dogs.

And now for a little history lesson

Back in the mid 1970’s, vaccines were licensed by the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA), based on challenge studies that were done for only a few weeks to a few months. Because of that short period of testing, all vaccine labels had this statement on them: “Annual Revaccination Recommended.”

Because duration of immunity (DOI) studies are expensive, the vaccine manufacturers tested their vaccines for a short period of time and subsequently put them on the market with the suggestion of vaccinating annually. But nobody really knew how long those vaccines would last because nobody went to the trouble to test them for more than a few months. So vets got into the habit of vaccinating every year.

During this time, a young scientist had an epiphany. Dr Ronald Schultz PhD wondered why animals were vaccinated yearly when dogs and cats that had recovered from natural infection to distemper and panleukopenia were protected, even years later. His own children weren’t vaccinated into adulthood, so based on these observations, he published “An Ideal (But Not Proven) Immunization Schedule for Dogs and Cats” in 1978 with a fellow scientist. In this report, they recommended a series of puppy and kitten shots, followed by revaccination at one year, then revaccination every three years.

Next, he set out to prove it

From the 1970’s on, Dr Schultz and his colleagues performed study after study. They tested well over 1,000 dogs and used all of the major veterinary vaccine products. They measured immunity with both serology (by measuring circulating antibodies) and challenge (exposing the dogs to the disease). And he did in fact prove that those vaccines were extremely likely to last for the life of the animal.

Dr Schultz and his team found that the distemper vaccine produced a minimum of 7 years DOI with challenge and at least 15 years with serology. This doesn’t mean that the vaccines stop working after this period of time – these numbers reflect the number of years after vaccination the dogs were tested. Theoretically, if the dogs lived to 30 and were tested at that time, they might still be protected.

His research also showed that parvovirus would protect dogs for at least 7 years with challenge and 9 years with serology. The other common part of the core vaccines, adenovirus, was also shown to protect for 7 and 9 years respectively.

The results were basically the same for every vaccine he tested and for every dog.

And then he showed that dogs that were vaccinated just once, after the maternal antibodies were gone, were similarly protected when challenged.

“Only one dose of the modified-live canine ‘core’ vaccine (against CDV, CAV-2 and CPV-2) or modified-live feline ‘core’ vaccine (against FPV, FCV and FHV), when administered at 16 weeks or older, will provide long lasting (many years to a lifetime) immunity in a very high percentage of animals” 

The good news (sort of)

These early recommendations prompted the American Animal Hospital Association (AAHA) to assemble a task force. In 2003, the American Animal Hospital Association Canine Vaccine Task Force evaluated the data from Dr Schultz’s work and, while noting that the core vaccines had a minimum duration of immunity of at least seven years, compromised by saying that “revaccination every 3 years is considered protective.”

Why would the AAHA recommend revaccination when faced with research showing that those vaccines were extremely likely to protect dogs and cats for life? And more importantly …

Why every three years?

Dr Richard Ford, Professor of Medicine at North Carolina State University, was a part of that 2003 task force. Afterward, he said that the decision to recommend a three year revaccination schedule for core vaccines was a compromise.

“It’s completely arbitrary…,” he said. “I will say there is no science behind the three-year recommendation…”

So, when presented with pretty convincing evidence that vaccines lasted for a lifetime, and certainly as long as seven years or more, the AAHA was only willing to move from annual revaccination to triennial.

The Gardasil HPV vaccine, which was woven in above in this thread, has been found to be interplaying in a way that indicates people who have adverse reaction / 'injury' from it often ALSO have been exposed to, and are hosts to, 'bugs'; in this study it was bartonella. The article is written by Lloyd Phillips, and is titled "Gardasil and Bartonella: A Dirty Little Secret.

 The Gardasil HPV vaccine may produce life-threatening reactions in any person who has ever been close to a cat, or potentially any animal infected with fleas or ticks.  New data reveals that a high percentage of these animals are infected with Bartonella, Babesia, or Lyme Disease (Borreliosis), especially pet cats.  If there is a family history of Mononucleosis, or active EBV, a cytokine storm (Interleukin-13) may typically result, and mucus may be overexpressed in the lungs and airways.  Under these conditions, it is not uncommon for a Pulse-Ox monitor to measure 85% saturation after mild exertion.  Many humans who carry these “bugs” appear healthy, and show no symptoms, until they receive the HPV vaccine.

Our study revealed that virtually all girls were unaware of their exposure to Bartonella, and were asymptomatic, prior to their vaccination.  After receiving Gardasil, Bartonella was commonly activated, and was confirmed by lab tests.  Bartonella is a fairly common dormant pathogen in a significant number of people. Bartonella (and many enteroviruses and Vector-Borne Pathogens) may be reactivated, and may become virulent when inflammation is present for an extended period.

The Gardasil vaccine contains aluminum adjuvant nano-particle substrates, bound to HPV16-L1 protein fragments, that appear to have mutated at their binding sites, and this mutation may result in excessive inflammation by allowing this mutation to stay in the body for months or possibly years.  The mutation attaches itself to the endothelial lining of blood vessels and other organs, including the brain, if the host lacks sufficient active glutathione, or similar complimentary attractant, or does not readily clear toxins.  Inflammatory HPV16-L1 DNA protein particles were found in autopsy tissue samples from two different teenage girls, six months after receiving her last vaccination, in the case of one deceased girl.

Our findings indicate that if the blood brain barrier is open, commonly due to allergies or the common cold, these man-made inflammatory vaccine nano-particles may enter the brain, and cause additional damage, and possible demyelination.

Professor of Zoonoses, Bruno B Chomel, presented the most recent information on Bartonella in a lecture entitled, Bartonella Infections in Humans and Animals: An Update [162]. The statistics listed on p.25 of this presentation indicate that about 50% of the DOMESTIC (pet) cats in the United States are infected with ‘Bartonella henselae,’ meaning a girl who has a cat, or visits a friend who has a cat, or is scratched by a cat, or gets bitten by a FLEA from a cat, IS AT EXTREME RISK OF CATCHING BARTONELLA. This risk may also come from rodents, birds, kangaroos, dogs, cattle, etc., which may also carry Bartonella or other Vector-Borne Disease(s). 

 The article at SaneVax dot com goes on to discuss more about Baratonella and commonly reported lack of awareness of symptoms that were apparent and not.  In the more well-known Lyme / Borrelia situations, many people think it only comes from ticks, and that you will always have a rash, or even always have the bulls-eye rash that is unique to Lyme, but this is not the case, in the majority of cases that are obtained from bites from ticks there is not a rash and it's often not a bulls-eye rash.  I heard first hand from a worker in a Colorado doctor's office that specializes in Lyme and the co-infections that even in 2014 with cases that were new this year, from ticks obtained in the Colorado mountains that yieilded a bulls-eye rash, the way the organized medical/ government system has developed the testing requirements for something to be counted as a case of Lyme has rendered all those cases not countable in the statistics, so Colorado goes down at the end of 2014 when I last looked at the official state information as saying 'there has never been as case of Lyme originate in Colorado'.  

But when I was telling a clearly unwell/ill bell-ringer at the holidays about this information, they instantly said 'but if it's in the deer here why wouldn't it be in the people'.  This was a person who was very much a product of mainstream medicine and had never heard of these things.  We'd struck up a conversation and they'd shared with me why they were putting in so many hours -- filling a void left by a family member who had died from something that might indicate they had Lyme lurking and so I wanted to plant that seed (as well as offer a little money to the pot which I don't normally do anymore as I'd prefer to help people directly and not through these organizations but it makes the ringers feel good to see someone donating ... black/white in the old days, shades of grey I have tried to develop within myself in the more recent times).  As Debby said above, the ripple effect -- I try to plant seeds in a variety of layers of society so they might start talking to others they know about these things and find their way to better health and solutions someday. I hope the same for YOU, or if you're well and reading this, you navigate your way as a health and wellness consumer to stay that way.

This presentation proves that Bartonella is NOT rare.  The hierarchy of the U.S. medical community appears to be treating Bartonella the same way they treated H-Pylori (causes stomach ulcers) over a decade ago, by attempting to suppress information to keep vaccination rates high and avoid a decline in vaccine  sales.  The fact that the HPV16-L1 MY-09 and MY-11 Consensus Primers of the HPV16-L1 protein fragment are missing, and a mutation has appeared in the Gardasil HPV vaccine, is also being hidden by the FDA and CDC,  and known only to a very few insiders.

There are huge profits in treating each Bartonella symptom separately, and because Bartonella and similar vector-borne pathogens are relatively new and not well known or understood, victims may never be properly diagnosed, and spend years going to different medical specialists, and receive separate prescriptions for fatigue, pain, memory loss, cysts, Inflammatory Breast Cancer (Bartonella is angiogenic, and loves making new blood vessels and connections), and much more.  Bartonella is difficult to diagnose, and is typically not the only pathogen involved.

Health Impact News bills itself as being a website resource for information that's not in the mainstream, or might be censored at other places.  I LIKE THAT, already! And I think Lumigrate YOUsers will want to know of this resource as well, generally.

THEN we can work our tails off to have real, fair, ethical, and effective health and wellness become what will be the new 'convention'. Out with the old organized medicine which has been convention, in with the new .. the grass roots of it are firmly established now.  It'll be wonderful! In the mean time, buyer beware, consumer get educated not just 'aware'.  Not studying these things once 'made aware' is willful ignorance.  Prioritize your time, make time to study it.  I've tried to make it as straightforward to get GOOD education via Lumigrate's links and sources and experts. 

HIN refers to Dr Mercola's website's information too, as I do frequently -- I would hope that anyone with any kind of health question turns to Lumigrate if they know about it, and knows to also turn to Mercola.  He's been at this since I was just learning the ropes being a conventional medical provider and having my deteriorating health baffling me and every professional I appealed to for help.  Thankfully I eventually got things turned around, saw the importance of this type of information reaching people, and 'joined the club' telling people the truth about health and well-being and what increasingly is impairing and destroying it (mental, physical, spiritual, emotional, vocational ... so many fronts affected).  

I found this link in my feed on Facebook because a very new FB friend shared it ... an MD and JD, she is.  One of her FB friends had shared a link to a PBS show and said that it was balanced --- I commented about my perceptions about PBS and to look at who funds PBS, and related how PBS steered me wrong (in my opinion today) about the war we were going into in 2002, after 9/11.  I'd not yet learned to get my news NOT FROM mainstream, and to look at anything mainstream as propaganda-laden and as 'entertainment', as I do today, to see what their strategy is for how they're trying to get information into heads of Americans (and others).  

This is a very important case, I think, and any consumer will be thinking that the legal process would be taking down the problems if there were problems with vaccines -- it gives a false sense of security (in my opinion today). In a story late in 2014 that no mainstream media outlet reported, a Pennsylvania federal judge ruled in favor of whistleblowers who have accused Merck of lying about the efficacy of its mumps vaccine (currently only available in combo with MMR). We had to find this story posted on a couple of websites servicing attorneys.

This story did garner mainstream news coverage back in 2012, before Merck’s attorneys appealed and tried to get the case thrown out of court. Here is a report Forbes wrote [165] on it back in 2012. Some quotes:

Anyone who falls on either side of the debate about vaccines’ alleged potential to cause harm is sure to have heard the big news this week — the unsealing of a whistleblower suit against Merck, filed back in 2010 by two former employees accusing the drugmaker of overstating the effectiveness of its mumps, measles, and rubella vaccine.

The scientists claim Merck defrauded the U.S. government by causing it to purchase an estimated four million doses of mislabeled and misbranded MMR vaccine per year for at least a decade, and helped ignite two recent mumps outbreaks that the allegedly ineffective vaccine was intended to prevent in the first place.

“As the single largest purchaser of childhood vaccines (accounting for more than 50 percent of all vaccine purchasers), the United States is by far the largest financial victim of Merck’s fraud. But the ultimate victims here are the millions of children who every year are being injected with a mumps vaccine that is not providing them with an adequate level of protection against mumps. And while this is a disease the CDC targeted to eradicate by now, the failure in Merck’s vaccine has allowed this disease to linger with significant outbreaks continuing to occur,” the suit alleges. The Wall Street Journal also covered the story back in 2012, but according to a report by Dr. Mercola [166],  the Wall Street Journal’s “elite” network of CFOs from the world’s top corporations met 3 days later (including executives from Merck), and the story was removed from their website.

This week, U.S. District Judge C. Darnell Jones II ruled that the whistleblowers had sufficiently pled that Merck might have provided false statements to the government and that the direct purchasers had shown enough evidence to establish that these falsehoods could have helped the company gain a monopoly.

Most people in the U.S. do not even realize that U.S. law prevents anyone damaged by vaccines from suing the manufacturer. In 1986, Congress passed a law preventing legal liability to vaccine damages, because the drug companies manufacturing vaccines blackmailed them, by threatening to stop manufacturing vaccines without legal protection. There were so many lawsuits resulting from vaccine injuries and deaths prior to this time, that it was no longer profitable for them to continue marketing vaccines without legal protection. So instead of Congress requiring that drug companies manufacture safer vaccines, they complied with the drug companies’ requests and passed legislation protecting the drug companies. In 2011 this law was upheld by the U.S. Supreme Court.

Therefore, any lawsuit against a pharmaceutical company for allegedly producing faulty vaccines is huge news. This current lawsuit is brought by two whistleblowers, virologists who worked for Merck and are accusing Merck of lying about the effectiveness of the mumps vaccine. There is also a class action suit related, brought by Alabama-based Chatom Primary Care and two individual doctors from New York and New Jersey who allege Merck’s monopoly on the drug caused them to pay more for the drug.

More details from the whistleblower lawsuit claiming fraud:

Merck is the only manufacturer licensed by the FDA to sell the mumps vaccine in United States, and if it could not show that the vaccine was 95 percent effective, it risked losing its lucrative monopoly, according to the complaint.

That’s why Merck found it critically important to keep claiming such a high efficacy rate, the complaint states.

And, Chatom claims, that’s why Merck went to great lengths, including “manipulating its test procedures and falsifying the test results,” to prop up the bogus figure, though it knew that the attenuated virus from which it created the vaccine had been altered over the years during the manufacturing process, and that the quality of the vaccine had degraded as a result.

Starting in the late 1990s, Merck set out on its sham testing program with the objective of “report[ing] efficacy of 95 percent or higher regardless of the vaccine’s true efficacy,” the complaint states.

Chatom says Merck initially called its testing program Protocol 007.

Under Protocol 007, Merck did not test the vaccine’s ability to protect children against a “wild-type” mumps virus, which is “the type of real-life virus against which vaccines are generally tested,” the complaint states.

Instead, Chatom says, Merck tested children’s blood using its own attenuated strain of the virus.

“This was the same mumps strain with which the children were vaccinated,” the complaint states.

That “subverted” the purpose of the testing regime, “which was to measure the vaccine’s ability to provide protection against a disease-causing mumps virus that a child would actually face in real life. The end result of this deviation … was that Merck’s test overstated the vaccine’s effectiveness,” Chatom claims.

Merck also added animal antibodies to blood samples to achieve more favorable test results, though it knew that the human immune system would never produce such antibodies, and that the antibodies created a laboratory testing scenario that “did not in any way correspond to, correlate with, or represent real life … virus neutralization in vaccinated people,” according to the complaint.

Chatom claims that the falsification of test results occurred “with the knowledge, authority and approval of Merck’s senior management.” (Source [167].)

One can easily see why Merck has worked so hard the past two years to bury this story and try to get it thrown out of court. But now a federal judge has ruled the case will proceed.

It is certainly understandable why the mainstream media does not want to touch this story, given the fact that one of the lead authors on a CDC published study in 2004 has also become a whistleblower [168], stating that the CDC withheld data from the public linking the MMR vaccine to a higher rate of autism among some children, specifically African American boys. The fraud surrounding the MMR vaccine is becoming a story way too hot to handle, and to report it would be to admit the media has been wrong, and reporting the wrong data, for many years now.

Dr. Andrew Wakefield [169] is the world-renowned gastrointestinal surgeon and researcher who first proved that there were problems with mumps vaccine given in conjunction with two other vaccines, measles and rubella. But a massive smear campaign was waged against him and his license to practice was revoked in the U.K. With no trial or jury, the mainstream media simply went along with the trumped up charges, and to this day hold him up as a scapegoat to supposedly prove that there are no serious problems with the MMR vaccine or any link to autism.

The mainstream media seems united in their belief that vaccines do not cause harm, and that the rise of childhood diseases is due to unvaccinated children, rather than faulty vaccines. Even with inside testimony such as is provided by these whistleblowers from within Merck and the CDC itself, the mainstream media does not appear ready yet to come out and admit they are wrong and report this contrary news. Their credibility on reporting anything true in regards to vaccines is very quickly eroding.

The FB friend had a friend that had suggested this at PBS as something 'fair'.. is it really 'fair' when PBS has sponsors who are the most wealthy couple and their foundation in the world? And they have clearly infiltrated the movie houses / theaters with their advertisement (for MicroSoft) before the movie I just attended a week ago (the first in over two years because I was learning about the corruption from Hollywood and what is put into our media and I wanted to get that digested BEFORE I was exposed to more so that I could not let it 'have it's way with me' (and my mind/brain).  It went from a cool guy who had started a nonprofit when poor children in Africa said a pencil would be what they wanted to help them learn (aah...), to immediately electronic learning being shown and MicroSoft having been shown with this collaboration with some little nonprofit who was originally with a mission about simple education done the way it was very well in the United States before the monkeys and their monkeybusinesses took over the education system.  

If you are unaware of that, now you are aware.  So now if you wish to become educated and not just aware, Search at Lumigrate's search bar on education reform, whistleblower, Charlotte Iserbyte -- I covered it in 2014 when I was thankfully FINALLY connecting the dots about what I'd observed about our education system in my lifetime.  My mother, who would have celebrated her 90th birthday yesterday died at 62, partly, in my opinion, due to the heartbreak she suffered from being a very good, honest, ethical educator and being forced to not do what would help the students with the most impairment of neurological systems / psycho-motor processing (from the many environmental reasons we've progressively gotten less well in the US the last 100 years).  

And then realize where PBS fit into things with education reform.  They snuck a Trojan Horse past us with cute puppets and dramas like Upstairs Downstairs where educated, intelligent people thought we were learning history and having savvy humor and got very used to PBS being a mainstay and thinking our little donations were needed and we were in control of what was going to be on PBS.  

I "woke up" after I'd created Lumigrate, though I was aware of the corruption, I thought it was inadvertent, disorganization, I did NOT realize how planned our system was and how it was set up to take advantage of 'the people'.  Those who are 'in the advantage' are the elite, the globalists, and those I call 'the monkeys and their monkeybusinesses' .... in a city that is a house of cards apparently falling now.  Each time a new person becomes REALLY AWARE (a.k.a. 'awake') then they have lost one more person (and family if they're influential in a family) from holding up the house of cards.  

So after you've gotten a firm footing about the afore-recommended learning, perhaps go and see what is at a source like PBS .. or go now and keep in mind there's an agenda behind their programming.  And weight it compared to what you've learned on other aspects of this thread.  Do your due diligence and think it through, form your opinion.

Make a plan. Act on the plan for yourself and others you are responsible for (including pets) and then YOU have become AN ACTIVIST.  Not just a passive consumer doing what someone ELSE tells you to do related to vaccines. Passivist, activist.  Activists aren't just the ones out there with petitions and signs, they're consumers who are active / proactive in what they accept and not. If it's from a corrupt business, why would you have an invasive procedure they are selling?  I guess we buy cars from places we know are corrupt sometimes, or knock off brands of handbags.  But this is your body, your wellness, your LIFE.  Raise the bar! (Legal pun intended.)

 Whether you're new to studying about vaccines or have been at it a while, I think this interview done by Patrick at OneRadioNetwork with Dr. Sherry Tenpenny (DO) and Dr. Suzanne Humphries (MD) is excellent.  There was one detail that was something I'd been wondering for a long time.  Clearly something they and we all take seriously is at hand, but they keep it upbeat and very easy to listen to.  I particularly like the way that the doctors support each other, it seems, and it's really nice to hear the professinalism.  

(I've recently been listening to one of Patrick's show's frequent flyer interviewees who I've put information about on Lumigrate as I think he's a great example of how much a layperson can accomplish when they're motivated to study and try things.  Tony P. admits to talking like the salt of the Earth).  

I think there's a LOT that can be gained by following the information put out by people who have self-studied without any or much formal education, and is best accomplished while also having reputable, ethical professionals' opinions.  Virtually and in person.

When I was about seven or eight years old, I received a stern warning from my father regarding the gas tank in his car. He told me that I was never to open the cap and put anything into the tank. I hadn’t ever done such a thing or even thought about it, but he was warning me against doing what my good friend did to his mother’s car.

Apparently, one day my friend decided that it would be fun to play gas station attendant. In those days no one pumped their own gas – this was a service provided by people who worked at automobile service stations. To help his mother out, he filled the gas tank of her car. He didn’t have any gasoline, so he decided to use the garden hose to fill it with water. Of course the car started fine when his mother needed to use it, but she never got out of the driveway before the engine quit. He eventually confessed when the cause of the car trouble was found to be water in the tank. That should have been the end of the saga, but it wasn’t.

A little while later my friend apparently planted the idea in the minds of his two younger sisters that they could make a cake by adding sand to the gas tank of their mother’s car. So, they went and got a little bucket of sand from their sand box and began to carefully spoon it into the tank. This time their mother got further down the street before the engine died.

From these events I learned that only gasoline goes in the gas tank. As I got older, I learned there are several types of fluids that are used in automobile engines. You’d better not mix them up, because each fluid has specific qualities for the task it needs to perform.

Here's an excerpt of the lead in to the information about glyphosate interplaying with other things, such as aluminum, per the research related by Dr. Stephanie Seneff of MIT.  

Where Does Harm from Vaccines and Glyphosate Appear?

There are several key processes in the body where the synergetic harm from vaccines and glyphosate becomes visible. The first key to understanding the harm that comes from vaccines and glyphosate is seen in the major disruptions that occur in the digestive system. It becomes impaired to such a degree that it cannot extract nutrition from the food that is eaten and it cannot maintain the integrity of the gut walls. This means that certain molecules of improperly digested food and toxins can leak out of the gut into the bloodstream. This causes allergies and brain dysfunction. The second key is impaired sulfate transport in the body. The third key is disruptions in mineral utilization in the body. Dr. Seneff will explain how these factors damage our health, and how dietary changes can restore health.

Dr. Seneff sometimes uses autism as an example of how these systems are damaged, but her comments also apply to numerous other conditions such as: learning disabilities and attention deficit disorders, Alzheimer’s disease, multiple sclerosis, Parkinson’s disease, diabetes, schizophrenia, amyotrophic lateral sclerosis, heart disease, and cancer. All of these diseases are biomedically related. In short, the panorama of illnesses that dominate life in the so called developed countries in the 21st century is directly connected to the sand that people put in their bodies and the damage that is produced in the digestive system.

I was trying to figure out what was causing the autism epidemic. I have been interested in autism for a long time, but I got really serious about it starting about eight or nine years ago. I was frustrated that all the money seemed to be going toward genetics and that clearly wasn’t the whole problem. The children who are genetically susceptible are getting autism now, but eventually all the kids are going to get sick if we keep going in the same direction.

I started by looking at aluminum in vaccines, and I certainly found evidence of a problem, but I couldn’t find the whole story there. In fact, I wrote a paper discussing the gut microbe problem and how that could lead to aluminum toxicity from the vaccines. As I wrote that paper, I was frustrated, because I couldn’t explain what was causing this gut problem, which was the starting point for all the problems.

I now know that glyphosate is the starting point for the gut problems. It is really amazing how unwilling the government is to believe that glyphosate is the problem. They are so sure that it is safe.

The more I read about the GMO process itself, the more I get worried about that as well. It is so insidious and so poorly understood. When you think about what they are doing and the consequences and the potential consequences, it seems terrifying to me. The research is hard [solid] and they are just sort of pretending that nothing bad can happen without looking at it.

My research showed that the aluminum containing vaccines in general are more toxic than the non-aluminum containing vaccines. But then, what I discovered was that if I looked at data before the year 2000 and after 2000, I found that those same symptoms that were more common in aluminum containing vaccines became more common [for all vaccines] after 2000. At the time I didn’t understand this, but now I think this is caused by the synergy with glyphosate. Glyphosate is making the aluminum more toxic than it would otherwise be.

Any amount of aluminum is poison. People don’t think of aluminum as being toxic, because there is aluminum foil and aluminum cooking pots, etc. But, when aluminum is injected into the body [as part of a vaccine] — it is all getting inside the body.

Ordinarily, with a healthy gut, very little of it gets into the body during digestion. Less than one per cent of the aluminum that a person might ingest with food makes it past the barrier of the gut wall, but one of the things that glyphosate does is to help aluminum get across the gut barrier.

[This happens] because glyphosate causes pathogens to overgrow that produce p-cresol. P-cresol is known to enhance the uptake of aluminum into the cells. Glyphosate also enhances the calcium uptake channels in cells and aluminum takes a ride on the calcium channels and pretends to be calcium. I also believe that glyphosate escorts aluminum to the terminal watershed area of the pineal gland and to the kidneys, but I haven’t yet been able to prove that. This is more conjecture. I suspect that glyphosate binds to aluminum and carries it to these areas and then drops it off in the acidic environment, because glyphosate does bind to metals in less acidic environments. Glyphosate is an incredible metal chelator.

Glyphosate has two biological modes of action. First it is a chelator of metals, and the second is that it pretends to be glycine. The second mode of action messes up heme synthesis, because the first step of heme synthesis requires glycine [and glyphosate can be substituted for glycine.] Technically, glyphosate is glycine with an additional phosphonal group attached to it, so it fakes out the enzymes, but then it doesn’t work and heme cannot be properly produced.

Any amount of aluminum is poison. People don’t think of aluminum as being toxic, because there is aluminum foil and aluminum cooking pots, etc. But, when aluminum is injected into the body [as part of a vaccine] — it is all getting inside the body.

Ordinarily, with a healthy gut, very little of it gets into the body during digestion. Less than one per cent of the aluminum that a person might ingest with food makes it past the barrier of the gut wall, but one of the things that glyphosate does is to help aluminum get across the gut barrier.

[This happens] because glyphosate causes pathogens to overgrow that produce p-cresol. P-cresol is known to enhance the uptake of aluminum into the cells. Glyphosate also enhances the calcium uptake channels in cells and aluminum takes a ride on the calcium channels and pretends to be calcium. I also believe that glyphosate escorts aluminum to the terminal watershed area of the pineal gland and to the kidneys, but I haven’t yet been able to prove that. This is more conjecture. I suspect that glyphosate binds to aluminum and carries it to these areas and then drops it off in the acidic environment, because glyphosate does bind to metals in less acidic environments. Glyphosate is an incredible metal chelator.

Glyphosate has two biological modes of action. First it is a chelator of metals, and the second is that it pretends to be glycine. The second mode of action messes up heme synthesis, because the first step of heme synthesis requires glycine [and glyphosate can be substituted for glycine.] Technically, glyphosate is glycine with an additional phosphonal group attached to it, so it fakes out the enzymes, but then it doesn’t work and heme cannot be properly produced.

Sulfur is not the only problem. There are deficiencies in manganese, magnesium, iron, and zinc [for those who eat food containing glyphosate]. Kids are especially mineral deficient. Glyphosate impairs the body’s ability to manage these minerals properly.

She goes on about walking, sunlight on the skin and into the eyes and not using protection as we've been lead to believe in the past, and many other things.

I reflected on my personal health as a baby and child when seeing the information at the resource I'm focusing this comment on.  By my first birthday, which was on Easter that year, I am shown in a treasured home movie to be 'floppy'. My family would always ooh and aah about what a 'cute baby' or little girl I was, blond hair that had a little curl to it, it looked like angel hair. Always with a serious, frowning face, you don't see the light come into me until I'm older.  I'm in one of those little cars older kids would play in, as I was with two older kids in a back yard of a relative's house, and I'm just gazing at the camera and people who were filming. When one of the older kids comes over and has me wave my hand at the camera, I perk up a little bit, almost as if it charged up my electrical system. When I went to occupational therapy school at age 34 to 36 at Colorado State University in Fort Collins, Colorado (USA), I would realizine in applied neurology lab how messed up my neurological system was: the professor happened to come by lab class to see how we were doing, and my lab partner was not able to make me move with the cues from the pelvis the way that we had learned in school.  Naturally the professor presumed the young woman was not doing it right, but then she couldn't get it to kick in either! So she went to my arm ... maybe the same arm that 35 years before was showing me perk up when being made to wave for the camera ... and that was not working right either. "You have sensory integration problems", Dr Anita Bundy said. 

My mother was a fourth grade teacher in our public school in the mountains outside Denver, Colorado when I was growing up; I am an apple not far from the tree of Fran in terms of being on the cutting edge of things with my professional work, innovative, and putting integrity ahead of staying with a corrupt system. She quit early, retiring before she had planned which affected things to this day indirectly for me as she'd purchased a ranch she wanted me to have in New Mexico in order to grow the food we'd need in the future she foresaw.

The new principal / administration that replaced the good ol' principal who allowed her to be innovative was insisting she stop working with the 1/3 of the students who she took into her home room each year, which were those she identified near the end of third grade as having the most problems. She didn't live more than five years after her retirement, never saw a computer in their home (though my husband and I had one in ours which she'd have seen when she visited, which thankfully was a month before she passed), so she didn't get the information on the Internet that helped me and millions of others now, billions now, put the dots and puzzle pieces together to figure out about The System, who's behind it, and how it's impacting every living thing on Earth. And keep in mind I consider water to be a living, magical liquid.

The information offered by the CFR map is rather significant and I think speaks for itself, i.e., the more vaccinated the population, the more likely to contract the very diseases for which they are vaccinated. How in the name of non-vested-interest-science are they still getting away with such sleight of pseudo-science, together with ruining the human immune system?

Just because they say so dogmatically, doesn’t mean it’s factually and scientifically so! Do your research and learn the real science behind vaccines in order to educate everyone: pediatricians, nurses, schools, health agency personnel at all levels of government, and even Congress, who I contend gave us this vaccine mess by passing The National Childhood Vaccine Injury Act (NCVIA) of 1986 (42 U.S.C. §§ 300aa-1 to 300aa-34).

The NCVIA is in desperate need of being revisited, if not repealed, in my opinion. NCVIA gives vaccine makers what some call a “get out of jail free card” that exonerates them of all liability, something no other industry has.

Furthermore, with all the health damages and problems vaccines have been causing for now going on two or three generations – see the VAERS reports in the hundreds of thousands – Congress needs to seriously investigate the autism problem, neurotoxic and other toxic vaccine ingredients, and stop taking those handsome monetary gifts from Big Pharma lobbyists that apparently influence their observable lack of oversight, I contend. I realize this might not be the kind of language everyone likes to read, but I think it shows the truth about how people feel about this; it is contamination in our vaccines, the 'punchbowl'. 

Oh man, I'm rolling on the floor laughing about this one today --- while at the same time EXCITED that people are writing like this, engaged as you'll see they are, and then crying with it as well, knowing how many have been harmed.  Myself included, thought I didn't start to figure that out until age 29 --- was 43 when I finally REALLY 'got it' for my own body and symptoms, and was just getting set up to the situations that unfolded that lead to Lumigrate being here since 2009.  Progress is not fast sometimes. 

I love the line you'll see below in the comments I transferred here as examples where the mother says she's going to sue in California and quotes the expression "well-behaved women rarely make history".  I think of myself as a well-behaved woman and I don't care if I make history, but I do care that I do the part I think I'm here to do, which is getting quality, interesting information people might not otherwise find their way to on my website and talk it up.  That simple. 

I'm reminded of when I was a statistical typist to make $5-6/hour and support myself and my husband's major living expenses while being a full or part time student at Colorado State University in Fort Collins, Colorado.  I'd type some of the theses and dissertations of the graduate students, and they had included me in their Friday afternoon club fun and games.  And after two of them defended on a Friday afternoon (circa 1983?), we'd go to Old Chicago afterwards to celebrate. I believe at least one of the professors was with us.  One of the students that had just passed was older, well known as a running coach and "character".  I was a wall flower type, now recognizing how many traits I had and have that are in the autism realm.

At that time Old Chicago's had a pasta bar which was the best bang for your buck and we were all on our budgets so it was likely why we went to Old Chicago.  We were seated at a big table near the pasta bar as I recall.  And the word 'fuck' was being sprinkled around the conversation at our table by these very relieved guys as much as the parmesan cheeses was onto our pasta!  There was a complaint by another table and the server came and talked to the guys at that end of the table who were liberally using the word. 

"Exprigate ourselves", the character said ... we're being asked to exprigate ourselves.... I learned a new word that day. And thought I'd share that story from those days.  I wish it were easy for me to get a photograph of me then.  It was when I still thought I was healthy, I actually worked there when I got married and the rubella vaccine required of me by the State of Colorado at that time since I had low/no titers to it upon blood test was what 'tripped the trigger' of the domino effect of my health issues which I have been fighting ever since. 

Ironically, the afore-mentioned husband was not up for changing his lifestyle to meet my sensitivities and needs after tripped when I was fighting to feel halfway decent and not miserable every day, and I moved on to explore a new relationship at my new job I'd gotten based on the skills I'd developed at that first departmental typist job.  I wonder had I not been married when hanging around the graduate students if something would have come with one of them... They were perfect gentlemen always and respectful of my status and we were young and having to navigate those first relationships with those of the opposite sex who are 'off limits' to us. 

I guess in a sense I said F-you to the THAT at my new job.  Which, had I not had THAT job, I'd not have created Lumigrate with video and all the things that it launched with, which got us some initial attention in 2008 and boy did I learn a lot every day for a while.  BigPharma's cleverly disguised goons, I now suspect, were on me within four months of going live.  And I'm a better person for it today, Lumigrate's a better website for it today as well.

THE ARTICLE THEY ARE DISCUSSING IS TITLED....... FUCK the American Academy of Pediatrics, Posted on August 30, 2017 by Thinking Mom's Revolution.  ... but then the article has date stamp of  September 5, 2017 (which I don't understand but .... whatever).  Off we go to read "Professor's" words:

I am flipping furious.

I don’t know about you, but I used to believe that the pediatricians’ professional organization the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP), whose professed motto is “dedicated to the health of all children,” actually cared about the health of children.

Even when it became clear that many of its recommendations were misguided at best, I could still convince myself that someone at the top genuinely thought they were doing the right thing.

With its latest recommendation, however, the AAP has made it crystal clear that whatever their agenda is, it has nothing whatsoever to do with promoting children’s health.

In an August 28 piece by Dr. Elizabeth Barnett, the AAP called for the administration of the hepatitis B vaccine to all newborns weighing more than 2,000g (4.4 lbs.) within 24 hours of birth.

The reason given for this is that approximately 1,000 of the 4,000,000 infants born in the U.S. every year are at risk of contracting hepatitis B at or near birth, almost exclusively due to the fact that their mothers are hepatitis B positive. That corresponds to a rate of 1 in 4,000, or a mere 0.025% of newborns who are even at risk. And according to CDC’s own records, the actual number of perinatal hepatitis B infections in the United States as late as 2015 was a whopping 37.

Yes, you read that right: 37 out of 4,000,000 babies born in 2015 contracted hepatitis B at or near birth. That corresponds to a rate of less than 1 in 100,000 newborns or 0.001%.

That fact shouldn’t be too surprising though, because even back in 1990—before the vaccine was recommended for all infants on the day of their birth—the rate of acute infection was less than 1 in 50,000 children aged 0-4. Even if you raise that number by a factor of 10, assuming that 90% of cases are chronic and not acute, you still get less than 1 in 5,000 with most cases concentrated in populations that were well-known to doctors, hospitals, and the CDC.

I feel so much safer now, don’t you?

The AAP justifies the ridiculous extremity of vaccinating everyone’s children, regardless of hepatitis B status, on the day of their birth with the fact that approximately 90% of infants who contract perinatal hepatitis B would go on to develop chronic hepatitis B infections in the absence of treatment. That chronic hepatitis B in combination with cirrhosis (much more likely with high levels of alcohol consumption) could put those children at significant risk of liver cancer someday.

In other words, the AAP is telling us we all need to vaccinate our newborns immediately to keep them from being among the 33 infants per year who could drink themselves into liver cancer someday.

Whew! Thank God we dodged that bullet, eh?

For those who don’t know, hepatitis B is transmitted through sexual contact and contact with infected blood, which means that infections are generally limited to healthcare workers, people who share hypodermic needles when injecting drugs, people having unprotected sex with multiple partners, and the sexual partners of all of the above. Children appear nowhere on that list. In other words, if a child’s mother is not a hepatitis B carrier, there is virtually no risk that the child will contract hepatitis B until adolescence at the earliest (and even that was highly unlikely in the days before the vaccine). In fact, transmission of hepatitis B is so unlikely in a school setting that children who are hepatitis B carriers are allowed to attend school.

But let’s not stop there. CDC and the AAP know that hepatitis B vaccination is less effective in infants than in older children and adults, thereby requiring additional doses to achieve “immunity.” CDC and the AAP also know that for many this immunity will wear off by adulthood, making it less likely to protect an adult who actually is engaging in risky behavior.

Some practitioners have been known to suggest that a child needs the vaccine in the unlikely event that the child will require a blood transfusion at some point in time. Those practitioners are apparently unaware that donated blood is screened for hepatitis B. According to WebMD transfusion-related transmission is “extremely unlikely,” and according to UpToDate.com, which contains organized clinical content by leading physicians, “it is extremely rare for hepatitis B to be spread through blood transfusion or organ transplantation.” The NIH itself says that the risk of a transfusion tainted by hepatitis B is about 1 in 205,000, approximately 0.0005%, of all blood transfusions.

......it is unconscionable to continue to promote a blanket policy of vaccinating all newborns with an aluminum-containing vaccine, when it is fairly easy to identify the 1 child in every 4,000 who could potentially derive a benefit from such vaccination.

According to the CDC the average price for pediatric hepatitis B vaccine is about $23 in the private sector. That means that we are needlessly vaccinating 3,999,000 children a year at an annual cost of nearly $100,000,000 for the birth dose alone. And that cost doesn’t begin to account for the huge costs—both human and economic—associated with any induced chronic health condition.

The ONLY justifiable change to hepatitis B vaccine policy for newborns is a MORATORIUM on administering it to infants born to mothers who are not infected by hepatitis B.

The new AAP policy—doubling down on their previous recommendation by strongly recommending that doctors vaccinate all newborns within the first 24 hours of life—directly contradicts the idea that physicians should “first, do no harm” and constitutes a huge FUCK YOU to the parents and children of the United States.

Thank heavens someone is just as pissed off and just as educated about the whole thing as I am. This whole situation is fucking infuriating beyond compare.

My son HAD autism. He had a vaccine injury and I’ve been able to use biomedical interventions to heal his body to the point of healing his mind and his ability to function in this world. No allopathic doctor was able to point me in the direction of chelation, Chinese herbal medicine, an enzyme protocol and an amino acid protocol. They could only suggest poison to keep my kid healthy.

I just can’t fathom that a government can mandate ANY product that lists ON THE PRODUCT ITSELF that it can KILL. I just can’t even.

I personally live in California where vaccines have been mandated, and I can’t wait until my children are old enough to be denied entry into public school. This is when I’m going to sue because the law is a hate crime.

My children are being denied their civil rights protected by the California State Constitution on basis of our religious beliefs of not mixing blood as it says EVERYWHERE in the bible. This isn’t about not using modern medicine, we just don’t want to use any product that mixes any kind of DNA with our children’s DNA.

So, this is a religious belief. And a hate crime is when someone prevents you from enjoying your civil rights based on your race, age, skin color, and religious beliefs, etc.

If more parents started to think this way, we’d have a whole army of people who KNOW this is bull. The law needs to be repealed. And when it is we will set a precedent for the whole state and country to follow. It’s only a matter of time. Either more kids are going to get sick and more parents are going to get FUCKING PISSED OFF and actually DO SOMETHING, or I’m going to do it for them.

What is it they say? Well-behaved women rarely make history? Yeah. I won’t go down without a fucking fight.

I love this! Three cheers from California! The Hep B vaccine at birth was the door to the rabbit hole for me. Why they give it to all newborns is beyond explanation. Thank you for writing with facts AND passion. It IS time someone told them to FUCK off. This is serious business. These are our children. This is the future of our country.

I'm editing this on 7Nov2018, and it's hard to believe until early this calendar year I was unaware of Dr. Lyons-Weiler.  I became his new biggest fan the day I saw him on YouTube not long after the Ohio Advocates for Medical Freedom posted the videos from their 1-2 day conference they held at the Ohio state house.

Due to Facebook and my friend and Lumigrate provider Alan Phillips (lawyer focusing on vaccine rights) posting about his presentation, I went to see what other gems were at the conference.  I literally binge watched the whole conference's videos on a winter day when most were tuning into the Olympics on their televisions.  

I'd go on to connect on Facebook with him and a few people from the Ohio group and eventually learn that he's known been known to those he's friendly with as "Jack", so I like to call him Doctor Jack.  It's party because it's so hard to type his 2 part last name.  (Sad but true, and I hope you're laughing a little to yourself reading that!).  

In summer of 2018 I'd rejoice when he agreed to be featured on Lumigrate, and then I'd have to figure out his M.O. -- and he is a fast rolling stone and going to a lot of great conferences and doing a LOT of activism that takes a lot of time and attention.  So I'm doing my best to guess what is going to be okay with him if I move ahead with photos and information here, and then have him see it and say it's okay (or not)(in which case I'll modify).

A RECENT NY TIMES opinion piece shed bright light on an issue that has bothered me since I decided to write a chapter on vaccines to include in Cures vs. Profits. The piece, written by Melinda Wenner Moyer, has a strange, but safe title – “Anti-Vaccine Activists Have Taken Vaccine Science Hostage [231]“. Given the title, one would expect the same old tired tropisms about the vaccine risk- aware community.

However, in reading the opinion piece, the forces at work are clearly scientists and physicians themselves, who, as Moyer correctly points out, censor themselves against speaking about vaccine risk out of fear of criticism from other professionals:

Scientists are so terrified of the public’s vaccine hesitancy that they are censoring themselves, playing down undesirable findings and perhaps even avoiding undertaking studies that could show unwanted effects. Those who break these unwritten rules are criticized.

So why the title? Why blame the public? If the public develops vaccine risk awareness because scientists make them aware of vaccine risk, that’s a success for science and research, not a failure. Why does Moyer, and the vaccinologists who, at every turn, introduce bias into studies and inject bias into so-called systematic reviews all to hide vaccine risk, then try to blame those for whom the risk was nevertheless manifest (the vaccine injured and their families)?

These are the families who carry the burden of the cost – despite the professionals’ efforts to minimize the perception of vaccine risk –  when in reality, those scientists and physicians are responsible to not taking the necessary steps to minimize vaccine risk itself.

Reading the opinion piece, it is clear than the thin veil of denialism is gone. Cochrane Nordic published a scathing review of an allegedly independent and unbiased systematic review published by Cochrane on HPV vaccine safety – which means there are a growing number of scientists and physicians who will no longer play by what Moyer calls “unwritten rules”.

To my fellow scientists and to physicians who know they should speak up, now is the time. The opinion piece cites Paul Offit, an MD who is infamous for making ludicrously unsupported claims (aluminum might be a nutrient because stillborn infants have more aluminum than healthy newborns, for one instance). Moyer cites Offit as saying that “researchers should handle findings differently when there’s a chance they might frighten the public”.

No. Researchers should stand atop buildings and mountains and declare their knowledge of vaccine risk – and demand that the Congressional mandates in 1986 to identify those most at risk and make vaccines safer be enforced before the public gives up on artificial immunization entirely.

Because the alternative is to stand by for another 15 years as ACIP gleefully and irresponsibly adds more vaccines to the pediatric schedule using weak vaccine science – underpowered correlation studies that fail to detect adverse events and that are overcooked to make serious adverse events disappear so as to not scare the public – all the while chronic illnesses such as asthma, autoimmune diseases, ADHD, autism, autoimmune diabetes all rip across the trusting public – all conditions with links to vaccines which “unwritten rules” state we should not make the public aware of – all so they can continue to trust those who are misleading them.

In The Times piece, Offit is also represented as holding what, to some, is a correct view: that low-powered studies perhaps should not be published. Of course, those low-powered studies cited by IOM that failed to detect an association between vaccines and autism – the five that were actually four studies, one with 97 and 196 patients… perhaps those should not have been published? (I’ve done power calculations for any impressive positive odds ratio – 3/4 studies cited by IOM failed to have power enough to detect an association if one did, in fact, exist. That research is now under peer review).

To those of my colleagues who will no longer bow to the unwritten rules that have caused you to hide in fear, I salute you. We must work together to create a future in which vaccines are treating like any other topic, before new unwritten rules are put into place about side effects of other pharmaceutical products, like psychotropic medicines, and before clinical trials are routinely conducted without acquiring informed consent from patients, as is now permitted under the 21st Century Cures Act if those conducting the trial determine – prior to the study – that the medical procedure or treatment comes with low risk for those unwittingly enrolled without their consent.

I made a simple commitment to myself when I embarked on my journey of writing Cures vs. Profits – it was intended to be a celebration of the very best advances in biomedical research. That commitment was simply this: If I found anything negative, I would remain objective, and report the bad with the good, as any true scientist would.

Since writing the book, I found more than I cared to know about the ills of vaccine safety research – and the design of vaccines. For example, although we know that pathogens carry unsafe epitopes with high similarity to human proteins that can cause autoimmunity, but they are not excluded from vaccines. And, although we know that that pediatric dosing of aluminum in vaccines is far higher per body weight in the first six months of life than the amount received from breastmilk and formula, and we know that aluminum accumulates in the brain, the vaccination of newborns on day one with 250 mcg of aluminum hydroxide continues – even in the NICU – in spite our #NICUChallenge for anyone to produce a study that shows the safety of injection of 250 mcg of aluminum in the NICU population. No such studies have been sent our way.

Those professionals who are interested in joining who would benefit from the safety of numbers, you can also join Physicians for Informed Consent [232].  Physicians for Informed Consent is an organization of members who are wise enough to realize that many parents stop vaccinating after an early bad experience, learning the hard way that their child may have higher risk than others. This increased risk is either due to de novo mutations or to inherited risk, and that the right for parents to choose (and have exemptions) therefore provides a safeguard against widespread vaccine injury.

You will also find informative material at World Mercury Project’s Kennedy News and Views [233] – although sometimes characterized as “Anti-vax”, when in reality they provide a counterpoint to the now clearly admitted misinformation campaign designed to warp the public’s view of vaccine risk.
